I am in a pickle at the moment. Toyota is denying a claim for my front left diff bearing. They had a third party inspector investigate and his claims are super bogus, however the service techs after hearing of his report completely disagree and are on my side I know there are plenty of us who have had this issue resolved through toyota under warranty, and Id like to prove to them that this issue is unrelated to lift. I am going to fire everything I have at these guys, and if I can get copies of service contracts where you guys have gotten these fixed, I would appreciate it. You can blur, remove your personal information or whatever you want to protect your privacy, I really only need your RO # and basic info of your vehicle, like a VIN. I think this is safe information to disclose. I am not letting these guys get away with this. I will post more later. Thanks for all your help. You can post here or just send me a PM and I will contact you.

BTW even if you are lifted and have had it fixed, I doubt toyota knows or cares. It will still help.

What was the reason for denying the claim?

show them the magnus law, i think thats what it's called. They need to prove that the lift is the direct result of what caused the problem.

I have it. And I have pushed with it. The biggest problem is, this can easily be blamed on a lift to someone who doesn't see my truck.... CV axles and bearings do take a hit on lifts.... the caveat to that, is my CV's have 94K miles on them and are still in GREAT shape. CV's are typically the first to go... they are still original CVs. The angle is really close to stock.

Hey Brian, I don't think my receipt's going to help you. It doesn't say what you were hoping. It only says, "Install SOP front diff per customer request." Nowhere does it say anything about it being due to vibes or such.

A bunch a cool stickers, a bada ass MetalMiller Tx Longhorns grill emblem painted Hemi Orange, JBA long tube headers with o2 sims, Diff breather mod, Red LED interior lights, Fancy head unit that plays ipod n movies, Also DIY install factory stuff like, factory cruise control, factory intermittent wipers, OME nitro struts with 886x springs and toy tec top plate, JBA high caster UCA's for better alignmnet and dey beefier too, Old Man Emu Dakar leaf springs in da rear with the gear, U bolt flipper, Ivan Stewart TRD rims with 33" K Bro 2's, some bad ass weather tech floor liners so I don't muck up my interior, an ATO shackle flipper for mo travel in da rear wit the gear, also super shiny Fox 2.0 shocks back there too, all sorts of steal armor for bouncing off of the rocks like demello sliders, AP front skid, trans skid, n transfer skid, demello gas tank skid, and a tough as nails ARB bumper with warn 8k winch, I'm sure there's more
Even though toyota replaced my front diff 3x. After the final time, they said the lift IS causing the problem. If yours is at 5" and you haven't cut into the crossmember to make the lift work, I'm afraid they are correct. The service writer said anything over 2.5" needs to have aftermarket UCA's to compensate for the lift and anything over 3" will not matter cuz of the stress on the suspension, and the only lifts over 3" will need to have the front crossmember cut into and at that point you void your warranty cuz of major modification. Read the fine print in the warranty paperwork very carefully. Another thing you can do is try another dealership. You may get a different result. I know the information I have just provided you is not very pleasant, but it is reality. I removed my lift, and I am waiting to get a new one (5100's) and if I go over 1.75" I plan on getting the adjustable UCA's to compensate for the lift.
