so i recently just got remote start and im loving the ability to start my car while im walking up to it and hear it fire up and having the ac/heat already going.

i was wondering how often do other people with the remote start feature on there vehicle are using it.

let us know how much you use it!

I use to have a viper alarm and i loved it, used it all the time, i actually just found out that the taco i bought has remote start, the guy i bought it from never told me about it. But its a cheap "Alert" system and I hate the alarm side of it, it seems to automatically lock my doors immediatly after i pull my keys and shut my door, which makes it a pain in the ass everytime i need to get something out my back seat

I got my truck last October, and the guy that had it before me wore the shit outta the remote. The remote start still works but the buttons for the lock and unlock for the keyless entry are shot. Thinking about taking it to one of the local shops that specifically deals with car stereos, alarms and remote starters to see if they can set me up with just a new remote. . . But I'm worried its going to cost a ton of money. . You guys think that they could just program a new remote to the existing system?

I love starting it from a distance while someone walks by my truck. They proceed to turn around quickly looking at my truck then walk up closer to it trying to see if someone is in the driver's seat haha.

You plug it in to the alarm module itself then you pay for every year :D

Thanks I want a new one for my truck because I want the remote start, my system isn't compatible, and I live in SC so 30 degrees is really cold to me. A straight piped V8 riding by will set off my alarm at night which gets old for me and my 80 year old neighbors, WAY too sensitive with no way of tuning it.
