Anyone feel the earthquake in Reno?

Just felt a small shake here in Reno, anyone else in nor cal/ northern nevada feel it?
Magnitude 4.8 about 35 mi west of Reno

Ya everything's fine here, just a minor 10 second or so shaking. 1st time i've felt an earthquake though so it was kind of cool.

 

i remember the first time i felt an earthquake was definitely trippy, especially being on the second story and feeling the house sway! wont forget that haha

I'll be scared the day I feel a quake that started in cali

 

there better not be a tsunami. if there is I hope the cancel school.

 

We had a bunch of small earthquakes here on the Big Island last week...thought we were gonna have another big one like the 2006 quake

 

those were just the usual tiny ones though, right?
From what I heard..

 

the first one was pretty big...but had something like 13 small aftershocks...all supposedly centered under mauna kea

 

ah.....

Yes I felt it. That was a nothing even for here. Had a long series of them a couple of years ago. A bunch of minor ones like that one over several weeks. Had a pretty good one here in maybe '04 or '05 but still nothing like the ones we had in San Diego.

Supposedly there is a big one waiting to happen on the western hemisphere due to built up tectonic tension since the last decade they have been mostly recorded on the eastern hemisphere because when tectonic plate tension is released on one side tension builds on the other side of the plate. Something around 9.0 is expected (so says my geology professor) lol and lucky me I'm right on the san Andreas fault line here in Palmdale California ha ha

 

You wouldn't have felt it if you house was the epicenter.
A quake this small would go unnoticed in San Diego.
Not even in the same class as a S.D. quake.

 

Eric, You and your family alright I? I remember not fearing to much about anything under 5.0.
That is something that i DO NOT MISS about living in Riverside... Just have to put up with the ball melting heat is Phoenix.

 

You would've freaked out if it was like the Easter earthquake in San Diego last year. I had felt maybe a dozen quakes before that one, but it freaked me out. It was pretty intense.
