TSB For Soft Springs AND Noisy Springs

    I got my soft spring TSB done and I recently noticed there is one for noise too. I called up the dealer that will soon be doing warranty work for my power window and they tried to give me a hard time about "Well, why didnt you complain about before, just cause you saw it online doesnt mean we can hand out free work" but my question is. Will the noisy spring still apply even after the harsh ride TSB? (I couldn't load the TSB)

    Don't waste your time. I have the TSB on my 2010 with 15,000 and they squeak now as well. Just Toyota crappy quality. There are ways to get rid of it, look in the mods section.

    Yes, there are 2 options when doing the squeek tsb, one for the standard springs and one for the TSB springs, only difference is the number of silencer pads they need to order. Its pretty quick and easy, shouldnt take took long to get it done.

    1) They get people in there trying to get free work outta them all the time for shit that the user broke by thru abuse or negligence. Or things that staright up don't apply. There was a rash of folks around here who took the TSB in and raised holy hell, only to find out their trucks WEREN'T covered by that TSB.
    2) It loses money for the dealership. They don't get to put a cash paying customer in the work bay while a warranty customer is there....so it less cash into their business.

    1. Say the new springs were squeaky.
    2. Go to another dealer.
    3. Buy the spacer kit for $60 and do it yourself. Just need basic tools to pry the leafs apart to install. The latest kit with the two-inch plastic discs is reportedly quite effective.

    Better Sloution:
    Deal with the root of the problem and put the good springs with the silencer pads on the fucking trucks to begin with and not have paying customers (who are making monthly payments or have bought the 30k shit already) clogging up their dealership bays.

    Toyota is causing these problems for the dealerships, not the customers.

    They get money for warranty work so you are a paying customer. TSB work on the other hand goes as a negative service for the dealer. And goes against their customer satisfaction points.

    I will say it again, once they started being assembled in the Good Ole US of A. Quality went right in the toilet. I don't go to the 4 Runner forums at all. But that vehicle is still made and assembled in Japan. Do they have a lot of these TSB problems. The Japanese wouldn't stand for it. It would be a dishonor for them. The UAW's and their Union's don't give a shit.

    since I am currently seeking warranty work on my drivers side window being loud. and sounds horrible.... they said it was covered under warranty but might they try to make me pay for it or something? they already orders a $300+ power window motor and called into the warranty place

    TSB work is still warranty work, we get paid the same way, still gets filed as a warranty claim, there is no difference. TSB work doesnt do anything against the dealer. The only issue dealers may have is if we have excessively high claims dollar wise compaired to our low cost claims. Toyota doesnt like that too much. The only thing that would affect our "CSI" would be a customer so bull headed to make comments like that.

    And as for your other statement, whether they are made in america or japan, the company is still the same, it's still says TOYOTA on it and they do in fact still give a crap.

    I guess another question would be is that I am at around 60,000 miles with a 75,000 miles extended warranty. Can I still get TSBs?

    That would be up to the extended warranty company. In my experience, most extended warr companies wouldn't replace components due to a "noise", since that is not an indication of a failure.

    Well I guess the 3 Service Managers I talked to at different Dealerships all must be stupid. If they gave a shit it wouldn't have taken them until 2012 to fix the rear spring issue. They probably still have the squeaky blower motor, drafty windshields, feeling like you have play in the steering wheel. I am sure I can find more, it is sad that you buy a new vehicle and there are all these little quirks you have to research to find out. So again, I don't think Toyota really cares about it's American product, can definitely say the UAW don't give a shit. I know 2 people that work building Toyota's and all they say is. " They don't build them like this shit in Japan. " " And hey it's all about the money baby. "

    What if it rolls up significantly slower than the other side?

    and a sound was enough for the spring tsb?

    and also, it does actually make my door jerk a little bit when I hat the roll up button. it is significantly different from the passenger side

    First off, 6 years with toyota and i have yet to ever see anything warranty or TSB go against a dealer, they are all the SAME. 2nd, sounds like these "2" people you know that work building toyota's dont seem to give a crap about their jobs nor do they take pride in doing them properly. Have you ever thought that people like this building our trucks could be the reason for your issues? Just wondering. But thats just my opinion.

I had a 1998 Tacoma (Frame rot) 2001 Tacoma (constant brake issues, MAF sensor problems, Fender flare stripping always peeling) 2005 Tacoma (Transmission issues, constant steering wheel vibes, leaf spring sag/squeak. tailgate bending, blower motor squeak) 2010 Tacoma (same blower motor squeak, same leaf spring issues, rusting new bumper.) I guess it is all in my head that Japan cares about the American built Toyota's
