Its funny....all over head type exercises make it hurt or have a weak feeling but I can do push ups and benching and farmer's carry's just fine.

Its feeling more like a pulled muscle right now with some tendon weakness on the top front delt. I still have full range of motion and the dull pains are gone. :D

you need to be doing body weight excercises, strength and endurance workouts and functional training. those types of workout and excercises will directly benifit you in terms of the duties and activities you'll be performing in ROTC and the army.

good to hear it's getting better

i've injured my shoulder before too and this is what i've learned: keep your elbows in tight (close grip) for a while and strengthen the rotator cuff muscles to help support the joint so the ligaments can tighten up again. avoid very wide overhand grip pullups / lat pulldowns as they open up the shoulder joint and stretch it.

What about normal grip and reverse grip chin ups? My workouts feel lame without some sort of pull up lol.

underhand (palms facing you) chins / pulldowns are fine because your grip is shoulder width or narrower, and your elbows are close by your sides at the midpoint. overhand chins / pulldowns is where you have to be careful though 'cause the wider your hands, the worse it'll be on the shoulder.

just keep your grip close, and your elbows in tight.

^^Dorian Yates says on bb.com that decline bench is the best angle for pecs. he recommends decline instead of flat. does it hurt on decline too?

yeah doing a fireman carry or a buddy drag with someone that weighs 40 more pounds than you would be a bit difficult. for our cft you are suposed to be within + or - ten pounds. if your weight isnt an issue as far as rotc then go ahead and put on mass. but know that your going to loose a lot in bootcamp. as for cycling it will help with your cardio but in my opinion the only way to get better at running is to run.

had a damn good workout today, chest/tri day and i couldnt do 1 pushup by the end

next week im switching my flat bench to 3 sets of 10, and my incline to 5 sets of 5 and doing incline first, mainly cause im starting to lose my noob gains

also thinking of haveing a dedicated arm day rather then chest tri and a back bi day

I recently switched to an arm day after doing back/bi and chest/tri for a while. I have definitely increased in strength.

Haven't worked out in probably nearly 2 months, and just did 100 sit-ups, 100 push-ups, and 100 flutter kick/breast stroke maneuvers. My body is hating me right now...

so i think my PH use has cought up with me. lets just say something bad happened. I'm going to give my body a few months to recover and see if it changes. right now though i can definitely say my test production has crashed. i havent gone and had my levels checked but i plan on doing it soon.

And I haven't been in here for a while as my gym work has stagnated. In the end of July I blew my shoulder out while doing shoulder press... I tried to get back into it after a month or so of healing up, but the motivation wasn't there. That being said, I have not worked out really since July, I've lost 25lbs and almost all of the muscle definition that I did have. I am planning on starting up Crossfit in approx a month, and hopefully things turn around at that point. I am ready to ACTUALLY be in fantastic shape!

Any recommendations for workouts before a firefighter academy?? Ive been told to just go easy and light so i dont hurt anything or tear something. Just wondering.

Only having limited knowledge of what they are looking for in firefighter academy, I would recommend more circuit work types of activities. Things like p90x or insanity. These programs will help you build up your endurance, which I think would be important. They also minimize the risk of tearing something due to heavy lifting as they are mainly body weight exercises.
