ARB vs stock Locker

    so I have an SR5 and may get a locker in the future and I was wondering if the ARB is better than the stock TRD locker and why?

    TRD locker uses electronics, ARB uses compressed air. If you have the need for on board air, the ARB might be a good option since you'd have to add a system for the locker anyways. If not, you might be able to get a used TRD Off Road rear axle and wiring and do the swap out and save some $$.

    Not a TRD locker, you can add an ARB to your stock rear end.

    The ARB has a stronger carrier and engages smoother/faster. I would choose the ARB over the e locker every time.

    Rear Leaf spring TSB, Bilstein 5100's all around w/ front set at 1.75", 265/75R/16 Mickey Thompson Baja STZ's, Trailer hitch w/custom wiring, AFE drop in dry filter, Rear Diff breather mod, Debadged truck, customized stock TRD wheel center caps, added factory fog lights, bed mat, door sills, tinted windows
    The SR5 truck's rear end is a larger rear end then the stock e-locker rear end, so add an ARB and you will have stronger, locked rear IMO. Then, upgrade the compressor for a clean, on board air set up. Much cheaper then swapping out axles, electricals, etc. and a better set up many would agree. Plus, this would be a good time if you wanted or needed to re gear. :D
