hey TW loyals, I recently damaged my 06 trd off road its a 4.0 w/6spd. I wrapped it around a 20" silver maple last Saturday night at nearly 55 mph. I'm fine. & The truck somehow by the grace of God runs, drives and steers. I have a multitude of issues as expected, I am trying to locate the senior members or other members who have the most knowledge of these trucks and rather than list all the issues in this thread. Was hoping someone or a few of you who know that you yourselves are damn near experts would pm me and help resolve some things. Thank-you all in advance!

I'd be curious as well. If the frame is bent, or you honestly do feel its totaled... Well that's what insurance is for my friend.

Sometimes it's honestly not worth putting money into, and better to just cut your losses... .02 Good luck.

Issue #1. brakes (abs) are electronically stuck on. Preventing it from rolling. if the battery is disconnected and crash sensors unplugged it rolls fine. Start it up and it will drive. turn it off, then back on and brakes are locked on. #2. I have no power to the fuse port on the interior fuse block for the power windows. #3. Will the rear belts work in the front? I am not having the insurance fix it as I feel its my bed (driving like an ass hat) and I have to sleep in it. Not.driving up.the cost for the rest of you. Oh and #5 my truck is wrecked :(

To be honest there are people that have used their insurance for much more selfish things. I would just report it and pay the deductible and get a new truck. Sounds like you already know you screwed up and you learned from it (maybe?) so use your insurance. That's what it's for.

sounds to me like it needs some major repair, not just swap over some seat belts and drive it, 55mph to a tree, you prob did some damage that needs a professional opinion/work, or get it wrote off. pics would help this thread a lot

It's an 89 Toyota Pickup. I got some stuff done to it.. FJ axles going under it soon.
Just fork the dam deductible over and get a new truck.

Insurance business is beyond fucked anyway..one more person won't hurt it.
I know, my parent's do insurance for a living and have for 13 years..and I've seen it all too when I worked in their office.

Insurance is there for a reason, to replace your shit no matter what happens..unless it's fraud but that's a different story.

You were in a solo vehicle accident correct? Ok, it's justifiable by the insurance company..sure your rates will go up but at least you got a new truck or new vehicle.
