Does the hood scoop actually do anything, besides look totally sweet:D, on the Sport package?
My buddy, who has the off road package, mumbled something about "ram induction", to which I appropriately replied, "that's what she said".
I'm looking to replace the one on my silver Taco, do to baseball sized hail damage :(

just cutting out the scoop doesnt make it functional. u'd have to rig up an intake to go to it, as well as take out any water that comes in, to make it functional

I'm not planning on modding the hood scoop, just wondering if/when I deside to replace the hood, if it is anything more than an aesthetic choice. Thanks for the help guys. Maybe I'll add a red LED to give it a Cylon look... BSG fans?

I am not sure if the Xrunner and Sport use the same hood, but from what I hear you can remove a few bolts under the scoop and remove something to make it functional. I could be wrong though..
