This x100. Thats why I've love the WDTPB's. I love zombie killing, but if that's all there was to it, week after week, it wouldn't have the viewership it has now. I think the story lines between the people and how they cope within a ZomApoc is what makes the show successful. That's another reason I can't really stand the zombie garbage like "Land of the Dead" or "Return of the Living Dead". Yea, fun to watch, but not true to the original Romero form. I mean c'mon, talking zombies and zombies using guns? Bah!

    But I'm a zombie purist....sorry, soapbox over. :D

BTW - Anyone else looking forward to the release of "World War Z"? I hope it stays true to the book.

I am really looking forward to WWZ, but it is a spin on the book and not true to the book. Pitt's character is not a journalist out to record the stories of the Zombie War. I believe the Hollywood version takes placing during the Zombie War, and not post war like the book.

Damn! Really? I was really hoping they would drive it by the book. :( I need to do some more research...But I guess I have faith in Brad Pitt to a degree, we'll see.

Have you read any of JLBourne's stuff? Day by Day Armageddon: Beyond Exile?

Cant wait for World War Z myself. But as for the Walking Dead - I say more Zombies and less shooting little kids and trying to hide your cheating. Obviously more important things going on with Zombies running a muck and dot get me started on the lame vehicles they drive and the fact that have no real weapons and arent the least bit organized...............

Love the JL Bourne books! They are done very well and were one of the first Zombie novels that got me hooked!

My favortie author so far though is Joe McKinney. He has 3 books that revolve around the same natural disaster that spawned zombies. His zombie novels are Dead City, Apocaypse of the Dead, and Flesh Eaters. The first two novels are sequential with the last being a prequel. The guy writes really well. Here is a small bio of him:
What isn't mentioned is that he also has a master's in English Lit., so he has all the makings of a great writer. I highly recommended his Zombie novels, as well as his other horror/thriller books!

If you mean 'real weapons' as in SA 80's, TAR's, or Ultra 87's, keep in mind, those are only good to use in a pinch. In a real ZOMAPOC, your weapon of choice should be a katana, or a shovel, or any other long reaching SILENT melee based weapon with a clean edge (not serrated). Big guns only attract more zombies, and eventually, you will run out of ammo...

OK, maybe I do take this stuff too seriously...

Ya know, I have Dead City on my Kindle, but haven't gotten around to reading it yet. I guess I need too! I've only heard great things about his books. Guess I got my homework for the night.:) Thanks for the recommendation.

No you are thinking smart - and i agree - but im thinking more of a hand gun with a Silencer. Just thinking it would be cool. But I think they can get there hands on better weapons but most deff better vehicles.

Right on, I hear ya. Shane driving around in the convertable Samurai made me crack up. Sure, easy on gas and it had a high axle height, but c'mon, top down? Does he think he's cruising the strip in Panama City?

What they need are a convoy of these
