Don't know if that was a serious statement, or supposed to come off as sarcastically rude... but...

    This is a perfect explanation.
Edit: Also, the Magpul AFG has a very definitive slant to it, which promotes the same style grip that the video describes. It allows you to pull the weapon into your shoulder with more control, giving you better balance over the weapon.

    No it was serious

    Thanks for the video

I just hate when people tell other people they are wrong, but don't explain why

Sorry. Could have come off either way. Wasn't trying to be vague.

Lol, it's cool man. I'm only bustin' your chops. Only reason I know anything about this stuff, or am able to build my rifle, is my brother works at a shop here in Sacramento that specializes in black rifles.

Not to mention, he's the only that showed me "proper" use of the foregrip a while back, before that, I did it the same way as everyone else.

I think people who hold a foregrip like that are usually running SBRs with little rail space. I think people who hold their AR with a thumb over the top C Grip have never been shot at in real life, thus I call it the hobbyist grip. You can't engage targets above your head with your elbow 90 degrees to the ground. So remember when you laugh at one persons grip someone more in the know may be laughing at your grip. Now go watch your magpul DVDs like a good boy and pay attention to how the targets they shoot at are NEVER in any order besides linear.

Wow, way to be a fuckin dick? Did I ever say I promoted the thumb over the top grip. No. But bring your hand up higher and tucking it in, yes. Why the FUCK are you attacking me when I was supplying a resource.

Now go watch your 'Sons of Guns' and keep your opinion to yourself before trying to be a self-righteous dick.

Nice magpul sticker on your truck, way to fanboy. If I had a choice of vehicles I would break into, yours would be the first, just saying. By the way I enjoy Sons of Guns the same way I enjoy Star Wars, if you take either one seriously then you need help.

You obviously critiqued someone for their grip and now I am critiquing you based on your AFG statement and the video you posted, which I just commented on by the way. There is not just one way to skin a cat, VFGs and broomhandle grips have their place, its not on a rifle range though so you probably wouldn't know this. If shooting from flat on the ground, on your side, or from any number of weird angles you might encounter in combat while taking cover, the broom handle grip is one of the BEST ways to go. You also have no choice on some REALLY short SBRs but to run a broomhandle grip because you don't have any room under the barrel for good purchase.

I am not being mean, just pointing out the different ways things can be done. Adhering to one method is a sure way to end up dead. Also keep in mind, Travis Haley made his name employing a magwell grip, and in his Haley Strategic vids, he is running more 'conventional' tactics. The reason why is because he is no longer sponsored by a company that sells theory products. Travis is now running AKs almost exclusively by the way.

Again not being mean, just giving you a little bit of what you gave tigerfan. ;)

You'd probably break into any car that didn't have Eagle, globe, and anchor. And way to fanboy? That's like saying everyone that rides dirtbikes and has a Fox or FMF sticker is a 'bro' or douchebag. Maybe I like Magpul's products, a good balance between quality and price. And maybe my brother's shop is a major distributor of their gear, and that sticker was given to the owners by Chris Costa.

I have an FMF sticker on my truck because I ride and I like FMF's products. I have a Magpul sticker on my truck because I like to shoot, and I like their product. I have a TacomaWorld sticker on my truck because I like my truck, and this site has good resources. Does that make me a TW fanboy?

And btw, me and Tiger were having a lighthearted back and forth. Your first post was aggressive and unnecessary. I'm not a soldier, and I understand your applications for your VFG are different than mine. But for the shooting that I do, and in the shooting taking place in the picture that started this, I found that tucking your hand up and catching some of the meat of the quadrail is most effective.

Yeah, that grip was what I knew at the time. That picture was taken several years ago and before the other technique was popularized IIRC?

we have a problem with magpul stickers? go ahead and break into my vehicle and your gonna get a rude awakening. and just because your in the military that doesn't mean you have to be such a dick about someone shooting there gun. if i wanna shoot my ar by using my dick to pull the trigger then so be it (now no one at the bc meet will ever shoot my gun again :D). and tigerfan, you don't need to worry that boy can hold his own with out your help.
