That is a very good point and makes a lot of sense. I have been wondering how they took the time to lower and wind it back up. I am glad they didn't cut the cable, that would have been an added expense! I unfortunately don't remember how I had it sitting :(

A few mods here and there and counting....
My spare was lowered a few weeks ago as a friend pointed out that it was dangling. At first i thought it might of gotten loose but it appears someone try to take it because i don't think it can ever lower it self down over time. Luckily, i have a cable/pad lock on it.

Would you happen to be located in the SF bay area, east bay? Glad they weren't able to take it!

    back to bone stock.
    anyone have this?

seems like it would make lowering our spare easier as a bonus.

I do have it, no easier no harder for the owner but definitely harder for poeple looking for easy target spare theft.

Good call, it would be a hassle for those who have TPMS to keep it filled without lowering but less of a hassle than it being stolen.

Now I know what that cable lock hangin around in the garage that doesn't get used on the bicycles is gonna be used for. Layers of protection......Thanks for the heads up.

Yes, There is a sensor in the spare tire. If you have a stock spare under the Tacoma its in there.

That sucks man. New it was California. They're stealing cat converters around here. My antennae got stolen. Three dents were kicked into my old Tacoma on my street. Over 50 tires got slashed earlier this month in Santa Rosa. I'm gettin outta here.

I heard about this, I think it made the local news. I have been getting "oh at least they didn't steel your cat converters" comment. It still sucks that I have to now buy something I already had!
