Amber strobe legal?

That's just stupid.

 

I don't always agree with John- but when I do-I post pictures of the most interesting man in the world.

 

I install lights and sirens in cop cars, ambulances and fire trucks for a living.
In NY, amber and white are legal for anybody to use.
For red and blue, you would need a blue light card to run blue, and a red light card to run red. Yes volunteer firefighters and EMT can run red AND blue, but they are the high ranking fire chief's, lutinents, safety officers, etc, and they will almost always have a red light card issued.

 

Just as an aside: Up here, snow plows run Amber with Green and sometimes Blue as well
