edit: actually, screw you oz. i just googled the hell out of when foot/feet can/should be used. in that sentence, foot is also acceptable. they are interchangeable unless one was to be used as an adjective inappropriately. example - "a 20 'feet' long board" is not correct.

But your sentence structure is wrong. You would have had to say something like "it's not always a matter of being able to make a 20 foot push".

And there's a reason they make tow straps 20-30' long, it's not very smart to put the recovery vehicle into the shit the stuck vehicle just got stuck in.
