Toytec Ultimate Kit Install - Swaybar relocate kit required?

I purchased the Toytec Ultimate Kit for my 06 TRD Sport. During installation today I noticed that I was only shipped one of the swaybar relocator brackets. The box was ripped wide open when I found it on my doorstep (thanks UPS) so it may have fallen out at some point.

Toytec agreed to send the other one right away, but I am wondering if I can finish it up without it.

Any recommendations on whether I should wait on the delivery or just go ahead and drive it would be appreciated.

You don't have to put the relocators on there to do the lift.

I had a similar situation, except the relocators were actually left out of the coilover kit by mistake. I waited to install the lift while waiting on the parts, but found out during the install that they weren't required.

I'm actually going to be taking my swaybar off shortly anyway, so it will be a moot point.

I also had a missing swaybar relocator from my shipment. I now have the truck put back together but have 1/2 of the swaybar unattached until the part gets here. I would like to figure out a way to work without it but i want the sway bar intact. From what i can tell there is no way to install the toytec CO and TC UCA and keep the sway bar in the factory locations. It must be moved forward and dropped a little. Is this correct?

curious. how way your customer service at Toytec when you informed them that you had a missing part? Mine sucked.

yeah. that is what i thought from looking at it. toytec (doug) acted like HE was really inconvenienced by my request for the bracket that should have been included! I was the one with my truck ever so close to being finished and now can not move intill i get the part. Not even an apology. Unbeleievable really. Esp after all of the positive things i heard about them... okay my rant is over. I plan to save it for a new thread later.........

Mine was missing one of the brackets, I sent an email on Tuesday and had it by Friday. No problems what so ever, sorry you had a difficult time.

I had some parts missing and they second-day'd them to me so that I had them when I had scheduled my install. And they did so at their cost. So far, for me, they have had awesome customer service!

One thing though, apparently, they forget the swaybar relocators a lot!

 

How was the install for you, im planning on getting the toytec ultimate lift kit also after i sell my honda prelude

I ended up removing mine until the forgotten relocator gets here. I can not tell a huge difference other than i have a bit more travel and the truck might "roll" a bit more - but not much. Steering feels a little looser. Basically it keeps the 2 sides from being tied together - and that is how it feels. I am only driving around town for now though. I rub the tires when i used to have plenty of clearance. Might be that the C/O made me a little lower than my old spacers did too.

I apologize for the problem you had. When you called the other day I had 2 phone lines on hold so I was not able to handle your problem directly; I was not inconvenienced at all nor did I intend to come off that way. I did from the office next to mine hear Sarah apologize by the way.....
I did authorize the part to be shipped immediately without question VIA AIR. at our expense.
We had several sets of the coilovers packed by a new employee with only one bracket. We do have a very good system and 2 people must sign everything we ship out. Because of the location of those brackets in the package somehow they were not visible.
We have corrected the problem and again I personally apologize for the problems you had with our company.

I haven't done it yet, but I have heard from a number of people on this forum say that as long as your suspension is good and not worn or mushy, you won't notice a difference. So the benefit of the increase travel offroad seem to outweigh any negatve effects.

Keep in mind, I haven't done this yet, so I can't say what it's like first hand...

 

What is the benefit after a lift of removing the sway bar?

 

There are a few people here that say you get more down travel without it when offroad. And I can see why...

 

Interesting. Anyone have experience with the what happens to the handling of the truck after removing the sway bar?
