HDMI high speed vs standard

Do high speed hdmi cables really make a difference in quality. Do the cheap ones on Amazon work as good as the more expensive ones? My system is very basic, sony tv, sony soundbar,ps3, direct tv

IIRC I got $6 HDMI cables from Amazon for everything. Works perfect.

Anyone buying $80 Monster cables needs to be shot.

The digital signal on an HDMI cable is much MUCH less prone to signal loss and degridation than the old coax or S-video cable. There is no need to spend big money on high end HDMI cables, its all a gimic.

Yes, and the quality is the same

 

Maybe. They are upgrading the cables like they upgrade software! You may find that one day a component doesn't work, swap cables with others you have before replacing component (this happened to me).
HDMI is a standard connector only.

Good cables are also rated for data speed!
