Nope. Before the first big snow is a great time to put down grass seed. The melting snow drives the seed into the earth and helps the spring germenation.

It is the first frost that triggers the stop growing of the grass. This snow is a warmer snow and will melt quickly.

I did not know this. It snowed in Orl. in 74 but was gone when it hit the ground. Saw lots of sleet in Wash. state but almost no snow on the west side of the Cascades on the coast... Jim

Rained all day, heavy at times, with about 1/2 in of snow around 17:00.

We had 1.42 in of rain in my back yard today.

Went out earlier today and the roads were slippery but put the Tacoma in 4 Hi and had no problems other than the nimrods that should not be allowed on the road in bad weather:eek:...seems the snow or rain brings them out of the house to run to the store for TP, milk and bread cause they might need it before the "great freeze" is over(44 degrees expected tomorrow and into the 50's next week)...had 3 to 4 inches of the heavy wet stuff...gettin tired of all this wet stuff...Ken

Need to head south to St Marten...what ya think Jim???:D

    Good morning all.

Off to church in a few then work on the interior of the shed for a couple of hours.

Caught a sale on beef chuck roasts yesterday and have one in the fridge marinating overnight. Will cook on the rotisserie this afternoon. Should be a nice dinner tonight.

morning all: so far so good. few small branches in yard. 6'' of snow; measured with official yardstick. some people in the area are out of power, but not here. 18 mi. west of us got over 11". more of a mess than anything.

    morning all

Like your list MT ;) although you might need to take another nap later on, you must have taken the other one mighty early

MMM dinner sounds great Tom..... Lets see, if I leave now, I might make it in time ;)

Carl, good news you didn't get any more snow. Saw some pics on the weather channel this morning - beautiful, but not good for power lines.

    Susan:
Up I95 for 9 hours then get on RT 50 in MD. Take 50 to RT197 and head east. Make left at first light, go up then down the hill making the 1 left after the turn at the bottom of the hill. Make the 4 left after that then I an the 2nd drivewy on the right. ;)

We had about 6" on wet snow. Lost power for a few seconds but not even long enough for the back-up generator to kick in. Here are some pics we took today.
