    Don't remember when I turned my a/c off and I'm putting off turning on the heat as well. House is only down to 64 - I've got 2 more degrees before I turn it on... hope it takes a while longer until I have to turn the heat on.

    sounds like my mom. one time when i was 14 we went to WNY to see family. there was 3+ feet and it was below30 degrees my mom wanted the A/C on full blast in the truck. i said HELL NO!! i hated when we stopped and it was in the 20’s and i had to get out than get back in to a truck that seamed just as cold.

    I like 70* as well.... just don't want the electric bill that goes along with it. Tried 60* one winter and that was too cold. 62* seems about perfect

    Not quite that cold here.

    :facepalm: silly woman :cool:

    78* and 62* 55* is TOO cold (for me anyway)

    I have a pellet stove. Just needs a vent installed through the wall. Pellets are around $5.49/bag, and $200-$235/ton. I burn about a bag a day on the lowest setting. Right now it's 34 outside, and 84 in my living room. Rest of the house is 68-72. Once I open up a doorway a bit more things should even out more.

    Either way, not too bad to install, no big hit on the electric bill, and it'll cost $150-$200 per month to heat vs $500+ for oil. :thumbsup:

    The stove cost me $1,000 so it'll actually be paid for this winter by not buying oil even if I buy 5 tons of pellets (which I doubt I'll need).

    Don't use oil for heat.... it's an electric heat pump. Not very efficient.
