His name is BOSS! My sister bought him in the beginning of October, I've been working with him, (training) he is really the first dog I have ever tried to train.

So far I've gotten him used to walking next to me, and have him sit as soon as I stop walking or running. He sits the majority of the time I tell him to sit. I still have tons of work to do with him. :) and it's been a blast so far, cuz a well trained dog is a happy dog! :D and he'll make an even better friend.

I took him out to a park today, and he stuck by my side the entire time, and sat when ever I stopped. He never strayed, but of course I put the leash on him when other ppl with dogs came near cuz he still needs to learn to stay by my side when there is a distraction.

She's golden retriever something? Got her from the pound.. hah I even got to the shelter 45 min early to make sure i'd get her! She's been a royal pain in my ass at times - even chewed up half of the tv remote... but She's one hell of a good dog!!

She hasn't been in the truck yet though! Need something to protect the leather - not sure she'd jump up in it either....

Food is the great motivator. Just use a duck strip to get her in.

As far as the leather goes, some seat covers would be a good thing. You can take them off and clean them as needed.

    She's a pretty girl!

    heh ;)

Duck strip? Never tried that one.. I had a bag of treats for her but I left them on the kitchen counter and the damn cat ate through the bag and ate half of 'em and just kind of shredded the rest all over the place. My cats are INSANE! Pretty damn entertaining though..

My issue with Hayden is that she's timid. So I think she'd be afraid to jump in. She is even afraid to jump up on me even when i tell her to.

I was thinking of getting one of those heavy mat/blanket like things you see on tv (I work night shift I always end up seeing some kind of infomercial)

Keep him for a few days w/o a name. See if something sticks.

He looks like he might be a Cooper.

You can get duck strips at Costco, PetSmart and I suppose other places. I use it as a treat for Riley but only if there's something I really want him to do--like come or get in the car. I have other treats for the usual "sit, stay, down" stuff--those are the sweet potato biscuits (the small kind).

She might be afraid if it's a long jump. Try some lower stuff. Then heavy praise and a nice treat to let her know what a good job. You can also give the command "hup", pat the seat and if she gets her paws up, give her a little boost then quickly treat her.

Riley was slow to jump into the truck. He is still slow to get out sometimes too :D But he's like a cat now and can get into the truck (and on top of tables) without scratching them and without you hearing him do it

Be patient she'll get it soon enough :D
