    Can someone suggest a good tent for me to buy!? I go campin and rock climbing a lot at Sams Throne in Arkansas and have always used a hammock and tarp but also its always been warm! Its gonna be a chilly this comin up weekend so I wanna go ahead and get a good tent! Lookin for something smaller, maybe a two person, gotta have good rain protection and it gets real windy up there so its gotta be strong! Oh and maybe a sleeping bag suggestion also

    are you trying to go light? some good one and 2 person tents are eurekas solitare and spitfire. their very easy on the wallet and they are good and strong in the wind. the northface tadpole 23 is also a very good tent. what are some things you are looking for in the tent and we can help you out more

    pretty much most of the camping i do is in woods on mountain tops, so i get a lot of rain or moisture on the ground and obviously a lot of wind also! My ideal tent would be: something that would keep me very dry, i guess having a strong bottom on it for setting up on rocks and sticks and things like that; the tent being very sturdy, having strong poles and strong material for side wind gusts along with a strong base; i usually sleep alone but might have someone with me so maybe big enough to fit a queen size air matress; head room not really an issue nor is storage room (always have the yota with me);

    thats about all i can think of

    I am due for a tent now. This 18+ year old REI dome tent is getting a little shady these days. Fabrics are looking a little worn and faded :cool:

    this. I have some of that clear plastic sheathing you can get from home depot or wherever and just cut it to shape (slightly smaller so water doesn't travel in between plastic and tend bottom). Does the same job and is a lot cheaper
