I know there are already tons of "will it fit" threads, but none of them deal with lift spindles. And yes i have searched! I need to know whether I can fit a 285/70-17 tire on stock TRD Sport rims with Camburg 4" spindles. My cab mounts are already chopped and my fenders are cut, I'm not worried about that. I'm more concerned about rubbing the UCA and the spindle. Will I have any fitment issues?

285's on stock rims will work, but they're drive kinda loose on such a narrow rim.

Alright, im answering my own thread. 285s on stock rims DOESNT work, even with lift spindles. The tire rubs the spindle, I know because I tried it.

You need spacers with stock rims and lift spindles

With spacers they will fit, but rather than spend $400 on a set of quality spacers you might as well spend a little more and get wheels with the proper backspacing. One less thing to worry about.

$400? Where do you get your spacers? Most of us have All-pro or spidertrax

    Which are ~$100...

Lug-centric spacers I've heard are bad news. Hub-centric, I don't think are a problem (assuming you get quality ones like the ones listed above)

I run 285 75 16 on my 2.75 lift on stock rims. I run spidertrax and I plan to buy spindles soon and I will run the same set up and with the spidertrax they will all work. and no spacer cost 400 Ive been running spidertrax for 2 years no issues...I love the stance

Can you run spindles with stock rims and stock 265 tires without spacers until you get new wheels?

I would assume so since my truck came with 265's on them (TRD offroad no lift).

Been running spindles with 35s and spidertrax on tundra stockers with no problems for over 10k miles now... Much easier to tear up stock wheels than expensize aftermarket wheels. Also 285s will have no problem keeping a bead, once again 35 12.5s on a stock wheel... Been aired down in the single digits never lost a bead

I am running the camburg spindles and have the icon coilovers set to under one inch. I had the trd sport wheels and yes they did rub with 285s so I swapped those out and picked up a set of mb 16 inch wheels with 285 75 16 on craigslist and I am not rubbing on the lc arm or the stock upper arm. I'm not running spacers at all. I am rubbing on the inside of the fender well but I have been trimming as I go and it seems to be working out fine. Hope this helps and it answers your question!

I believe they are 5.5, still not enough to not rub the spindles.
