I was wondering why he was getting Studded MT's. I know studded tires are legal. Starting TODAY, they are legal to run on your car till April.

Im getting the Destinations M/T's from Firestone. They dont come studded but they can put them in with a stud gun.
Honestly I probably dont need them but after hearing about the storms in the east our winter may be hairy.

When you get the Destinations M/T, don't them studded. IMO, I would get them sipped instead. That way you could use them year round. I got my tires sipped and they worked well in Oregon's different climates.

They would be my winter set of tires. I used to rock them without the studs but I switched to revo 2's.

What does it mean to get your tires "sipped"?
It it like shaving the tire?

Stick on hood scoop from Autozone.
Kind of. It basically just adds small grooves to the inner part of the tread to increase traction. I did this to my KM2s today.

    They look exactly like this:

Thats cool. I saw this done to a tractor once. I still think studs will grab the ice a bit better. But I can do this also:D

Had siped BFG Mud Terrains on my old Jeep, and there's no need for studs. Those tires lasted forever (regular rotations)... but over 50,000 miles on them when I sold the Jeep. The siping did great on wet roads, snow, and ice. Bought chains, never used them... even in that bad snow storm of '08.
