its all about the center of gravity and making the car handle really good.

 

It's not the Boxter engine, it's boxer. The design is same as Porsche but Subaru made a lot of headway in the design.

I'd live to see a 2jzgte inspired engine under the hood, but a turbo boxer would be sick too. Looks like it would be fun to drive.

 

There is already a Miata... If the FR-S/BRZ will be made in quantities of 3000 / yr worldwide, expect prices to be high, which will defeat the point of the car.

Well, at least they aren't making the cars uglier like Honda...

 

Motortrend estimated the MSRP around $25,000 for the Subie version

 

And Car and Driver estimates $28000, which would be pushing it. The RX-8 starts at $27000, the Genesis 2.0T at $22000, the latter perhaps not as refined.

At 3000/yr worldwide, expect dealer price gouging well above MSRP, especially in Canada.

 

Expect me to lodge my foot so far up their ass they'll pay me to take it off their hands.

A turbocharged version should definitely be an option on them if they havent yet

 

^ This would probably work. Back then a $40000 Supra was considered expensive. Now it will compete nicely with the G37. Too bad Toyota is busy designing hybrids with edible seat cushions.

 

yeah it sure would, if they didnt turbocharge it, it will pretty much be another Scion Tc just rwd, and would really make no sense in making...
You would still pay that now for a good looking Supra!

 

honestly its too much Genesis/FTO/Porsche styling... even if it has an amazing performance setup, the looks are still just not doing it for me

no in all honesty I can't bash it too much. All concepts end up mellowing out once they finally make it to production. AND its not nearly as horrid as alot of the other new auto concepts

Also, FHI (Subaru) has been building boxer engines for a long time. It was originally an airplane engine design many decades ago.
