Changed to winter tires and rims

I just changed to my winter tires and rims (2nd set) and rotated them front to back from last winter and now I have steering wheel shake at highway speeds. Should I rotate them back to what the were to see if it corrects the problem. I haven't had this issue before and there was absolutely no shake with my summer tires and rim combo.

You could try rotating them to where they were last season but it sounds like a wheel balance issue.

 

I think I will try that first. If it works do I have to worry about getting them balanced...will it cause any damage?

 

You may not have felt the imbalance in the back when it was mounted there. Did you check the lugs nuts? Not trying to ask a stupid question but maybe forgot that wheel? What speed is the shake?
Whenever I did my winter swap over, the tires always felt weird for the first hundred miles or so verses the non-winters. Once they set, it was good to go.

 

Lug nuts are all torqued to spec, shake is around 65 mph. I've only driven about 80 miles since the change over, maybe I'll give it a bit more time to see if the shaking goes away.

I was having a shake at 65 (not winter tires) & was told it was a balance issue. The tire company tried to put the tire on the back & now feel the shake in the seat.
Am going to Toyota tomorrow to have it them all rebalanced & tire checked. The tire shop was no help. Good luck with your tire problem as well.
