OK. just installed a 3 inch lift. used OME 884's up front with the top place from toytec for a full 3 inches. about a week later there is a rattling sound coming from the front during acceleration. I cant tell if this is the vibration people talk about coming from the differential. All my angles seemed to be decent. Do I need the diff drop kit? If I get it will it stop the noise? Please help

Yes you should have a differential drop if you're at 3 inches, definitely. Your CV's wont last long.

As for your 'rattling sound'... I'm not sure thats your differential. Is it a hollow sound? Could be your airbox.

you step on the gas, the front comes up, the c/v angles are more severe and the joints are clunking? does the frequecy speed up along with the vehicle speed while you accelerate?

nope it is just a little rattle then it stops. I dont think it is the CV's anymore. I am gonna get under there is a little bit and try to find out. I am not accelerating enough to pick the front end up that much. It is pretty much just making noise at this point

GOT IT! It was the heat shields on the resonator right underneath the cab. One of the screws had rusted out and the shield was just rattling around. The shields have been removed and my truck is happy again.

Mine started doing the same thing. Did you replace them, or are you just going to keep them off?
