And I burned out the clutch in the hammer drill twice and the trigger had to be replaced in the impact driver. That was it for me, dewalt is simply a black and yellow black and decker tool lol

I have this ^^^

no complaints at all (the fact that it was free doesn't hurt), and the drills have slightly higher torque than the milwaukee.

 

when i was doing construction with my mom in hs, we tried dewalt but had problems and moved to porter cable and had no problems with their entire lineup... i have a makita lithium set now, does its job

but if its just for around the house, less expensive stuff will do the job just fine.

We have a makita kit we use often at work. I don't mind it for light work but I find the drill and impact don't have enough power for longer screws #8 3" screws almost seem to be too much for it. Besides that it's good for most jobs.

I'm looking for heavier duty though this time.

 

I could use an impact driver too....

I've heard from a couple guys with M12 milwaukee stuff that the batteries suck. it's possible they don't recharge their batteries in a timely fashion though, I like to recharge asap.

 

my makita setup has a fast charge, less than an hour to go from dead to 100%

 

I love my m12 tools. The thing a lot of guys don't do with lithium battery tools is that as soon as the charge dissipates, you stop using it and charge the battery. Way too many people run the batteries beyond this point and they have crappy battery life from it.

And I know they say the newer batteries don't have a 'memory' but I still give them a full charge overnight every so often. Never had an issue with this method
