That's why I put the other stuff in there about education and football-related careers.

Obviously, the chances of making to the NFL are long -- I'm not disputing that -- but the opportunities to get a good career, or even just a college education from it are good reasons to not necessarily quit and go get a job at Home Depot. I went to college on a football/academic scholarship and got a free education from it -- which allows me to combine my experience and education into a higher-paying field, which will provide better if and/or when I decide to start a family.

Let's say he sucks at football and High School is the highest level he'll ever play. But he is passionate about the sport and parlays that into field he is equally passionate about. It could be anything from equipment manager to Head Coach or Broadcaster. Any of those would probably be better paying/better benefits than managing the Burger King. Not to mention a better quality of life by working in a field he is invested in.

All I'm saying is that quitting something you have passion for at 17 to join the workforce isn't going to do anyone in his family any favors by prolonging further education or passionate career direction. In fact he'll probably cause his family deeper financial stress over his lifetime for it.

There's ways to make shit work. Being responsible isn't always just going for the cash grab right now. Play football, hit the books, take care of your kid, stop doing stupid shit and keep your eyes on the prize of providing a wonderful life for his family would go a lot farther than dropping everything to make a buck.

    Look OP-

If shes preggo you keep the baby whatever thats your business. The best thing to do for your family is to get a good education, and by that i dont mean taking college art classes. Go get a good college education, get a good career and support your family. The chances of going pro in any sport aren't that good. I'm not saying you suck, i'm just being realistic.
