Ive got sliders, and the tow package, so thats kinda what i was planning on doing...sliding off everything. did not know what was more important, approach and departure angles or under body protection. Im gonna try to have both, but wondering which I should get first incase i cant get both done

Or armor up and beat the piss out of the front. You'll just end up scraping the bottom mainly. You can always stack a rock to help the angle. If you fall on your tcase you're fucked.

There are many trails where armor is not needed too . And some of the medium trails have by passes around the harder stuff.

As jaso stated angles are important there too. If you are staying less than 7s a bumper to help your approaches out would be nice..I know I scrapped my arb a few times last trip, but I also used my sliders and skids a bunch. So best answer is.... both.... but if you eventually getting ato skids it's hard to pass up the gb

best guess on # of trucks would be to look at who voted on the date ranges... +/- 5 trucks

lot of lerkers who haven't voted yet though, so hard to say for sure...and it's still many months away so we could pick up even more before may hits too!

I think there should definitely be increased emphasis on getting CB's and spare parts for those planning on attending. It'd be great to have a good sized group, but if they're unprepared then it can quickly turn into a mess.

I know a lot of people looking at this event are very well equipped, but just for those who aren't. Thats my .02

I lost track thousands of dollars ago.
Just drive smart and you will be fine don't take lines your truck can't handle. I did Hell Hole trail in CA with stock skids and it's a rated an 8. Sure i didn't have stock skids after the trail but nothing was broken and it gave me a reason to upgrade to Bud Built skids :D

TTORA used to have annual Moab meets in October and they were an absolute blast. The first one I attended I only had sliders and 33's. The first time in Moab with my '98 all I had was a 2" lift and 33's. I did Hells Revenge, Poison Spider, Golden Spike, Gold Bar Rim, And Fins & Things. No broken parts and no body damage. The factory tow hitch saves the bed more times than I can count. And continued to that trip and the next one which was my first trip with TTORA. And from my experience with that group. Take the number of people saying they will go, and 1/3 of those people will be there. But then add about another 10-15 for people that decided to come last minute or are friends of someone that said they would be there and they just don't like the Internet. Lol. I think the most we had was in 2004 and IIRC we had like just under 50 trucks at one point during the weekend. Seeing that many taco's on the trail and at the hotel is pretty sweet that is for sure. And we need to emphasize the fact that people don't have to do the trail just cause someone said they will make. Some people just don't like the stress of pushing the limit of their truck for 8 hours straight. And if they aren't comfortable, a 4 hour trail will take you 8 hours to complete. Moab is for fun, not stress.
