    That does suck...
Running Mobil 1 in generator to get it to be more fuel efficient and reduce number of oil changes. Otherwise I would have to change oil every two days.

That does suck Blue, hope they get it back on soon. My power was out last spring from a bad wind storm. It was out about 4 1/2 days. I didn't have access to a generator so we lost all the food we had in the fridge and freezer. And it was hot as shit at night! No power no fans! UGH! So I feel for you. Again hope they get it back on soon for you. Atleast the temps have been getting a little warmer in the day.

They didn't have power in 1865. What do you think people did then? Sit around and panic about not having power? :p

Hopefully you guys get it back soon!

Yep current estimate says I may get power back on Sunday. It was 23F today in the morning so people have to deal with pipes freezing. I hope my generator lasts that long. I had never had to run it that long:eek:

Yeah back then they had no EPA to tell them that they can not install wood stoves due to Air quality act.

No woodstoves at all ? Or no non-catalytic stoves ?

What's this about woodstoves? I have had one running the whole time. Generator is really to keep the food from going bad.

I'm more worried at this point about someone stealing the genny. It's cable locked, but that won't stop everyone.

I think its time to get a permanent one.

Some how my apartment has half power. Yes, half power. My refrigerator, my stove top (but not the oven), and three outlets in my 5 room apartment work. Mine is one of the many in the complex like that and I've checked every breaker in apartment and the main electrical room. Got tired of scratching my head on this one and polished off a bottle of Sailor Jerry to keep me warm through the night.

My power finally came back last night....

Chris, I've seen that once before with one of my last apartments. Just means 1 (of 2) 120V feeds are out.

generally no permits anymore. We can have wood burning outdoor furnace or fireplace. Outdoor burner to heat the house needs electricity to run. Old houses which had stoves or furnaces are allowed to keep them but new homes are not allowed to install them. Air Quality and town ordinance.
    Lucky guys :)

starting Day 6 .... No Power.
having fun taking showers in Red Cross shelter. Generator is running so we have heat at the house and fridge is good. I regret installing computerized water pump that can not run on Generator  Once this is over I will install setup for water pump to run.
So far not a single Cl&P truck had showed up on my road but I dont blame them. Place looks like Tunguska with trees down every 100 ft. Atleast DOT had finally cleaned road to the point that you are not scratching your car.

Hang in there bro............I have folks that live in Woodstock and surrounding towns that are coming back to life.......

Thought National Grid was horrible but from the looks of things maybe the state of CT needs to look at how CL&P does business.......sounds like they downsized there crews and now are paying for it.

I ran my pellet stove off the taco the night of the storm when i lost power had no generator and worked like a charm.........getting a transfer switch put in next week as i had enough living at the inlaws......:quickdraw:

    LOL!!

I know a lot of people blaming Cl&p but northern part of CT got almost 2 ft of snow so a lot of places look like Tunguska.
On few mile strecht on my road there are 10 places with big trees that crushed through the wires braking two poles in half and snapping line supports. Probably additional 10 places with branches laying down on wires. So they will have to remove few miles of line to clean that out. Thats just few miles of my road the rest of the town is no better. Even if they had double of the crew I doubt they could get power sooner. Its just too big of damage.
