$500,What should I do next?

Ok, guys and gals, I should have about $500 available here in a couple of weeks. What should my next upgrade be? In my signature I have the following items listed as coming soon:

Custom Skids
Brake like upgrade
Spindle Gussets
Sway Bar Links
UCAs

I am not sure what I would rather have at this point. An upgrade I might be missing? The end result I am going for is a truck that can handle some mild off-roading. Mainly want to get to the out of the way fishing and camping areas with a pinch recreational wheeling.

i think some custom skids would be nice. I have the trd one and im scraping it all the time. I wish i had a beefier one

Why UCAs? I mean what does this give me on the trail? I would expect here in Wisconsin I will mostly be seeing old logging roads. Look forward to the responses. Originally I was leaning toward skids, but wanted to put up this thread to see what others might do.

 

I wouldn't think anything really offroad, but they help with getting your alignment back in shape.

I got an alignment right after I did my Billy's and my wheels/tires. Would my alignment still be off?

plus, the TC UCAs will give you an extra inch of down travel...

 

It's a catch22. I usually say to save it or pay off debt but we need people to spend money to get the economy back on track.

 

What about the Light Racing and All Pro Offroad UCAs? I see those are around $500 for a pair. Will either of those give me additional down travel? Also, do I even get an additional inch of down travel since I am running the adjustable 5100's?

 

well i would go with total choas. Ive done a lot of reading on them and they appear to be the best. Plus it's not that much more so why stinge. I hear downsouth motorsports has a good deal on them. If you go feel your stock uca's they are not solid tubed or whatever you wanna call it. feel under it. The aftermarket ones such as the total chaos are soo much more beefier. Ive held it in my hand and was very impressed. Im saving up for these as well.

i think downsouth can sell the tc uca's for 630 shipped to tacomaworld members. And i remember reading some thread a day or two ago where someone said they got them from downsouth for 600. i dont know if he just rounded down or what. Either way they are the cheapest ive seen. There is a shop in san diego area that has website. I saw tc uca's on there too. I've been meaning to ask them if they are willing to set up a group buy for a discount. I will soon. Im sure a lot of people would be interested in some total chaos uca's!

 

yea same here. Im saving up til i have enough to buy all at once. Imma get the coilovers as well. aal in rear. im excited.

although that new 4.5" lift from rcd is looking very tempting. And you dont need new uca's with that since it is a spindle lift.

I don't know if you knew this or not but the ucs'a don't lift your truck at all. But we will get our lift from the toytech coilovers(or icons if u get those) for the front. The spindle lift is a whole different beast in its own. Im not very educated on spindle lifts. But a lot of people like them. I think some people have put on the coilovers and the spindles giving a lot of lift. Because you can buy just the spindles by themselves(such as camburg).

And the new rcd lift comes with a 4" block in the back. I hear blocks are worse than aal. But with that lift, an aal wont give you the level ride height.

 

yeah. I do know a lot of people running blocks in the rear. I dont think they are prone to sliding out. Just not as good as aal because they have a bit more harsh ride.

I want a good ride! lol. But the spindles are more attractive since u dont gota dump another 6 bills on ucas. but at the same time that rcd lift would have to be installed at a shop. Unless you really knew what u were doing. So you gotta pay the $2150 Its gonna sell for, plus installation. The coilovers/aal/rear shocks are a lot simpler to install. If i get the coilovers and aal im pry gonna install it myself.
