Did you have any other ideas on how to get out?

 

i wasnt really stuck at first. I could have backed out. but i was game for winching. then the winch pivoted me on the rock shelf so my ass end was against a rock,side against a tree, and front against another rock. then we highlifted my ass straight again and i wound up making it under my own power anyway...


it was a learning experience, i really dont care that it dinged the cab ... my ultimate plan is to find a wrecked access cab (rearended) and do a cab swap and chop and cage the rear. i really dont need a bed anyway... id rather have the room of an AC.

 

It was definitely a learning experience. The important thing is we all got out safe.


As for you thoughts about modding it, take Paul's advice........get a train set lol

 

lol hey im only $20k into my truck. including purchase. for $33k like a new offroad, i could buy another reg cab and sas it...

After back surgery, my hobbies have changed a bit. I have 10 motorcycles/dirtbikes that dont get used. I enjoy milder adventures like wheeling and hiking now. so if i concentrate my money on one hobby, not 5 or 6. Modding my truck is worthe it. if i get an AC for my truck and ARBs f/r, regear, and maybe a crawl box. ill be done with my expo rig and will probably buy a crawler. i have a tow vehicle in ny. so all id need is a trailer. and room to store it all

You are talking to a couple of motorcycle retirees here. I have a friend/off road acquaintance that just woke from a coma - We would rather see you live a longer, caged, life than a fast, uncaged life. We've been there too. And I guess if you won't take my advice on the train set, the plans for your truck isn't a bad as a second choice! I think Brandon has $20k just in all of the wheels that have been on his truck!!!

So.....

Just got home from doing a Prerun at Cleg. Also went around and Checked out some stuff on Pilot Rock Trail. Everything looks good. I dont think anyone should have any issues.

 

will you need atrac

 

LOL No. ANy truck (Prerunner or 4WD) can do it.

 

Did you incorporate ATRAC with the essesment of the trail conditions!
