Get whatever wheel you like most. As for size, don't go 285. I can only get 18 on the hwy with mine. So you will lose some MPG.

City driving I'm lucky to get 280-300 with ny 285's

Will 265's look too small on a 3"?

He prolly does have a lead foot! I think 265 is on the small side for that lift. I'd like bigger!! I think 285 looks great. Prolly cost u some in gas.

Okay, no matter what I'd be increasing the tire size. With the SR5 I'm running on 245's. Not a fan of doing the cab chop for the 285s

I'm fairly gental on my pedal. But only drive it close distances so that eats my fuel also.

I didn't think u would need to modify with the lift.

My 285's rub like a mother fu*ker off road... They don't stuff very well with your wheels turned. They are fine in mall parking lots though!

    Haha!
Really though. He'd have to mod to do 285 with the 4" lift?

I get about the same results as Rob on my Maxxis Bighorns. I don't rub, but front flaps had to go.

265/70 look small, I've never seen 265/75 in person to compare. 285 look proper, but the difference between them isn't going to make any drastic change offroad - if that was more your focus, you would compare 255 and 285.

If you can find a local member, see if you can either test fit or just park side by side.

I will say that with an offroad bumper, especially with a Relentless or Elite, the bigger tire makes a definite improvement in looks. Looking straight on, the high wings of my bumper expose about 2/3 of the tire, and from the side there's a big gaping hole to fill in the front since I dumped the bulbous plastic. Putting in more rubber was the right choice for me.

i bought my tires cheap on Craigslist, hoping to do the same next time around... or go treadwright. I'm somewhat curious about 255s still.
