    Hi Everyone,

What a great forum and I look forward to my first Tacoma and being part of this community.

I am getting ready to pull the trigger on a new 2012 TRD Sport model with double cab. These guys list for around $29,600 and through my Costco program I have been able to get my dealer down around $27,500.

I have been told that the best time to buy is late December or early January but I am not sure I can wait :) Does anyone know of any incentives or specials that Toyota runs or any other reasons to wait? Did anyone find any good way to sweeten the deal at close? I am thinking of asking for a bed extender and wheel locks.

Thanks for any reply and I can't wait to start driving!

    Tacomas don't unsually get incentives.

Go as low as you think you can.

Remember to always be willing to just walk away. Dealers hate seeing people exit the showroom.

I just purchased my 2012 Double Cab Short Bed TRD Off Road with the exact options I wanted. The sticker MSRP was $32,871. I got them down to $27,900 after 3 visits. While there will always be a better deal, a decrease of 5K is pretty good.

You MSRP seems off - every TRD I looked at was $32,00 and up. If you are getting it for $27,500 and your MSRP is actually above $32,000, I say go for it. I did.

I am look at 4x2, which list around $29.5K . I think the 4x4 are the ones at $32K.

27,500 out the door wouldn't be bad but I'm guessing there's still a lot of crap you'd have to pay. If sticker is 29,500, aim for 26,000 and settle at in the high 26k mark :D

Back in mid 2010, I went back to the same dealer I bought our Corolla from and they sold me a new V6 TRD Sport Double CAB for $24,999 and with all the blah, blah...out the door for $26,500. This is after I went to that dealer and walked their lot several times and talking to several sales people. I kept telling sales that I was in no rush and kept walking away when I felt they still could go lower. Final deal came with 5 coupons for maintenance for the term of the warranty. Take your time and you will find the deal.
PS: this is in Hawaii and in the middle of the ocean the shipping prices are vicious. So if they can bring it down here.....

Got my '10 in July '10 and saved a few grand because they mixed up the clearance price tags that they hung on the mirror :D

Oh, being from New England, I forget they even make those ;)

I'd say shoot for 5K off MSRP like I got it. It can't hurt.
