I'm offshore so I can't simply go outside and check in my shed.

I have a 3" lift and 33s all my trimming is done, only rubs at full lock in reverse. Aftermarket 17" wheels. TC UCA's.
    sept2420087-1_b09e5ee7f22df799885d90043ffff2f6443ed751.jpg

I'm wanting a set of TRD Offroad rims, negotiating purchase now. I know the largest tire size I can install without spacers is a 265/75/16 which are 31.6" tall.

I would really prefer to have 33s on the truck though or at least closer to 33s. Its my understanding that the 285/75/16 (32.8") rub the stock UCA's and require trimming. I already have the trimming done so the question is will they rub my TC UCA's?

Yes I have searched this....no I haven't found a satisfactory answer, hence the thread.

Actually , if you have a 3" lift , the largest tire you can run without spacers is 255/80/17 or 255/86/16 , which is a 33 1/4" tire

just asked this question yesterday. You will need 1.25" spidertrax (Or another hub centric spacer) with the Offroad rims, then you can fit 33's

I had to use the 1.25" spidertraxx to avoid the UCA's with my TRD offroad rims and 285/75/16's.

I've also repeatedly heard that you had to run wheel spacers.

Seems completely possible according to width. Now to see how difficult to find a tire in that size.
    265/75/16= Height-31.65 Width-10.43"
    285/75/16= Height 32.83" Width-11.22"
    255/85/16= Height 33.07" Width-10.04"

Darkgreentaco- do you have stock UCA's or aftermarket?
Hookedontronics- lol, I can never find what I am looking for using the darned seach. Its actually just easier to start a thread.
WW FIREFIGHTER- Thats primarily what I have been reading also just never could get a clear anwers about the aftermarket UCA's. Lengths, before he was banned said he had 33's on stock sport wheels with no spacers. But there was some confusion in those threads and the answers we not clear to me.

    Thanks for the replys gents.

Its a fair question: TC UCAs with stock offset rims.

You gave a diameter you want to run, but not a width. Are you wanting to run your existing 33" tires? And if so exactly what size are they?

As OZ points out, rubbing the UCA is a width limitation, not a height limitation.

You can get BFG km2's in 255/85/16

Not sure if you are looking for an MT , as I have yet to find an AT in that size

hard2kill- I'm really not interested in the spacers as they will cost $215ish mailed to my house from spidertrax. Not a safety issure or anything like that just don't want to spend that money on them. If I would have already had the offroad rims then yes but not wanting to buy rims, spacers and tires.

bjmoose-I honestly don't have a width in mind. This will be my daily tire, basically wanting to have a nice look, keep the wheel well full.

    OZ-T
Thats the only tire I have found in that size. The KM2 255/85/16 at $209 per tire at tiredirect.com and unfortunatley its not what I'm looking for.

My 17" rims will now be my offroad wheels as they have the proper backspacing of 4.5"

Thanks for the input, i'm not really liking any of the tires in that size range. Well not that I don't like the KM2's but I don't need them for my daily driver. More interested in a moderate AT, my BFT AT's have been sufficient thus far but was wanting to change brands.

Suppose I'll get the 265/75/16's and enjoy the lighter, smaller tires and rims. Not to mention I'll get some of my gearing back and possibly pick up a mpg.

I know that these tires are more aggressive than I need for daily use, but my daily use isn't just road useage. My wheeling trips are out of state and I won't be swaping tires and wheels to ride around the house. And lets face it these prices can't be beat.[IMG]

Not neceserily this tire I just got tired of posting the pictures and cleaning it up for viewing. There are some AT's there that are under $120 a piece, same size and specs for the most part.

Gotcha. I was hoping to get lucky and the aftermarket UCA's wouldn't be in the way.

I have the guard dogs in 285/75/16 and I like them so far. I haven't had them offroad yet but they do have good reviews. They also have a bit of a howl but it's not bad imo and treadwright has great customer service from my experience with them.
