Quick question about invoice, Costco has it setup where you will get the vehicle for $300 over invoice. What amounts are part of the true invoice and which ones are dealers just adding things on? The invoice I was shown had destination charge $810.00, TDA $444.00, gasoline $13.40 for a total of $29,770.40 then below that it said Memo- total amounts included above: dealer holdback $614.00, Whsl. Financial Reserve $307.00. If this is truly $300 over cost what is that amount supposed to be when I get to the dealership?

OK 2012 owners, I've had my DC short bed for 3 weeks, and I'm wondering if anyone else has noticed a vibration or shimmy during acceleration from a stop? I have found several old posts on this issue:

    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd-gen-tacomas/16772-driveline-vibration-15-25-mph.html

    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd-gen-tacomas/27796-vibration-20-mph.html

    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd-gen-tacomas/149910-little-shake.html

With one suggesting that there was a tsb on the issue but that it didn't work. But these posts are several years old. Is this just how the Tacomas are? Once I'm up to speed, it is smooth as can be for a truck.

I've had three second gen tacomas and never had that problem. Fan chirping and squeaky clutch pedal, but not that.

If you can easily and reliably reproduce it, take it to the dealer. If it is sporadic, do the same, but understand that those are much harder to nail down.

Nice guys. I'm waiting on my 2012 DCLB TRD Sport in MGM to get here. There was not one in Northern Cali so now I have to play the waiting game to get it built.

The Sports seem to come with the 4 leaf pack. The Off Roads seem to come with 3. Not sure about the straight SR5s.

I don't like that the steering wheel buttons are green - are they customizable like the temperature gauge in the rear-view is?

I notice a couple vibrations in my 2012. The first is similar to yours. The second is a nice rhythm shake around 60 MPH. I only have 300 miles on the truck so I am going to at least wait til 1000 miles so I can drive it a little harder and see if it still exists.

I purchased mine for quite a bit under invoice, for what is it worth.

Tacomas are known for this - nothing to worry about.

The take-off vibrations aren't going anywhere, but your highway vibration could be just about anything.

I think your idea of giving it some time is smart, although I don't think it is just going to go away by itself.

Did you verify that they balanced the tires before you took delivery?

But what part is invoice? Which of those fees are the dealers tacking on to claim as invoice and what is true cost $300 over invoice? I can't try to bargain with him too much, it is the only one in the entire area for what I am looking for. $300 seems reasonable but I am not sure of those other line items which are supposed to be deducted or is he going to claim they are part of his costs and or not rebated to him?

Go on Overstock.com and price out the truck you are looking at. It will tell you the bottom-dollar invoice price at the bottom once you are done building it.

    Dealer Holdback

    More reading

But really, none of this matters. What matters is the out-the-door price to you compared to your other options. Let the dealer worry about making a profit or not.

Really, you need to shop around in your area. Make a few phone calls, and call some other dealers and say, "XYZ Toyota has a truck for 29,200. I will drive 200 miles to save 500 bucks. What can you do ?"

Greater torque = worse axle wrap

Slow and steady wins the race in this one.
