Ive been lingering around and reading all the threads I could and found some good stuff. I just purchased 07 Tacoma and thought I would share 1 strange headlight issue I had but got it fixed really easy. First off, I am in the Houston area and my 07 Taco is:

    4 cyl. 2.7. 2 wheel drive.
Access Cab, silver with hood scoop.
Had 56 K miles when I bought it about a week ago.
Has Flow Master pipe. It sounds good. I didnt think I would like the sound but it isnt annoying like I thought.
Has Pioneer D3 with GPS and after market speakers that sound great. 4 speakers.
Fake Fog lights that I want to get real ones soon.

Viper alarm with auto start. First time I tried it my Son started it and it was in gear. IT STARTED ANYWAY. WOW. And started backing up slowly even though I had the emrg brake set. I guess I didnt have it pulled out far enough. Luckily, it was in empty field and he killed it right away so no damage to anything and it only moved a couple of feet maybe. Cant beleive the brake didnt stall the engine!

Anyway, to the headlight problem. I searched everywhere for an answer why one headlight seemed to be stuck on high beams, the driver side. Never really found a definitive answer. I thought maybe the after market stereo or alarm might be the culprit.

I took it to Car Toys to see if they might know if it was the alarm. The guy popped the hood, took the bulb out and turned it around and put it back in. Bam, that fixed it. He said it was put in upside down. I had no idea that could happen.

I am averaging 21 mpg in the city. But I admit I haven't been babying it. Not hot-rodding though. Those days are over for me!

I love the truck and if this lasts as long as my Tundra, I will be tickled. I have 2001 Tunda V8, purchased new, original owner, that has 320 K miles and still running like a dream. I gave to Son In Law and he uses it for work still.

Soooooooo, make sure the bulb is put in correctly when changing headlight bulbs!!

Thank You Guys. I had to walk out and look at that headlight while its dark to confirm and yep, they are both the same now. My son has a 2010 Tacoma 6cyl 4 door black with black wheels. I reckon he listened to me when I suggested Toyota. 2 Tacomas and a Tundra, we have those T's in the driveway!!
