That does make sense. Im saying he acts like agriculture is the only job out there nothing else.
My guidance cousler told me about this new nuclear plant going to be built in SC and they are going to hire over 12,000 people. He said i could go to school for 2 years at a tech school. Then start out making 20 to 25 dollars an hour. Then i could go to some classes at that Nuclear plant and get certified and while still getting paid. I can keep taking classes and getting certified and make over 100,000 a year.

Does anyone still visit their old high schools?
I use the track there all the time when I'm home, and check up on some of the people there

Not sure how they do things up his way but down in Louisiana we have 4 point and 5 point classes. General level classes count as a 4 point class and enriched/honors/AP counts as a five point class. It's an unweighted gpa. So, for instance when my gpa had to be calculated for college they had to convert it to a weighted scale.
    A-4.0
    B-3.2
    C-2.4
    D-1.6
    F-0.8
However, at the op, they will have to convert all your 5 point classes to the aforementioned scale when you apply to college. My unweighted gpa was a 4.2 whereas my weighted gpa ended up being around a 3.3.

OP, wait until real life hits. It ain't gonna get better, but your ability to deal with it does. From the sound of it, you're a bit behind in your ability to cope with your trials and tribulations.

I still have all my keys to the athletic fields that were given to me during my stint as the "manager" when I had a heart murmur 2 years ago and couldn't play. I love going to the baseball fields and running poles(one foul line pole to the other along the fence in the outfield) rather than running on a track or a treadmill. I go to the weight rooms and work out all the time when football guys aren't there, usually during school hours. They call me the red shirt senior sometimes because I'm there so much.

I think they need to bring back technical high schools. I would have benefited more from learning a trade skill. Also how many schools still have shop, mechanic or home economics?

Also HS was cool, juvenile record cleared.

A lot of things like shop were cut due to budget.

3 programs I was in got cut due to budget (Biotech, physics, Env sci) and 1 almost did (choir).

I wish there was more money out there to nurture the youth. My parents did it right by giving my sister and I what the school couldn't. Microscopes, piano lessons, museum tours, opera, ballet, musicals, machine shop, auto shop, guitar lessons (A lot of extra curricular but worth every penny!!)

I sometimes feel guilty I had such a nurturing education but others can't.
