    Anyway, I think I need to grease my UCAs. I don't think I put enough in there when I installed it and it's squeking a little now.

    What do I need to do it?? And how much grease do I use?

    Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
    make sure that u use some PB Blasters on the uniballs. thats wher ei get squeak from every now and then

    and as for the UCA's, go to autozone and get a grease gun w/ a flexible hose and a zerk attachment. i bought some high friction valvoline grease for mine

    mobil1 and lucas red and tacky #2 are good greases...................i use both on my drive shafts zerks.....................gotta do it again soon.

    get a pistol grip grease gun too....................way better than the standard arm.

    I think I read somewhere that you can put too much grease in if you pump until it "oozes out"... Or is that if you keep going after the oozing begins??

    And you'll have to forgive me, but what is PB Blasters? Is it something I smear on the uniball to clean it or is it a spray or something?

    It's all in my head at the moment...
    It's a "creeper" type lube, spray can like WD-40 but better. Creeper type is where it works itself into all the small places it can get to. I guess it "wicks" is a better term.

    Don't use grease or a white lube on the uni-ball. It'll trap road dirt and grime and then you have gritty grease and it'll be like sandpaper in there. Eventually you grind the hell out of it. PB Blaster can be purchased anywhere you get automotive stuff. All the major auto parts stores, Wal-Mart, Lowe's, Home Depot...You get the point. It frickin' stinks but works well.

    When you grease....ooze is ok as long as it JUST pops out. No need to make it squeeze out like toothpaste. Also a good idea to wipe the excess off to because of the above mentioned grit grab.

    Do I need to remove the wheel to do this or can it be done with the wheel on? I know I can physically get to all of it with the wheel on, just wondering what people "in the know" do... :)

    Someday I "will" be in the know. You should be ok with just turning the wheel left and then to the right so you can fit in there. Grease it and then take a short ride. Just work it in.


    Also.....Tripleqwazzible check your clothes for grease, that stuff just leaps on to you without notice. You'd cry very, very loud getting that stuff on your seats.

    Yesterday, I went and got a grease gun (pistol grip type) and tried to grease the UCAs. However, it seemed that more grease came out of nozzle than made it into the zerk (if any...)

    Is there a secret trick to doing this right?

    Make sure the grease gun nozzle engages the zerk all the way... mine leaks out of the nozzle a little bit, but not bad...

    Sounds like you didnt put enough on when you installed them. First, DO NOT USE PB BLASTER OR ANY OTHER PETROLIUM LUBE ON THE UNIBALLS. This will ruin them fast. I dont care what anyone says. DONT DO IT. Use a Dry tefflon lube, if any. Also, you may want to loosen the UCA bolt, and then grease the bushings. If the grease isnt going into the zerk, make sure your grease gun has a positive connection to the zerk.

    Go get some Tri Flow and soak the Uniball in it. If its not that dusty in your area, you will be ok. That PB Blaster will eat through the Tefflon coating in the Uniball cup.

    So, just detach the uniball from the spindle and soak it for a while or do I need to take the whole UCA off? And how long do I soak it? just a few minutes or an hour plus?

    Neither. Just spray a good shitload on the top of the ball and let it sit. Then, after an hour, spray some more, and goe for a ride, makeing sure to cycle the front suspension a few times to work the tri Flow in. Whatever damage, if any, is done, you cant erase it.

    I went to three auto parts stores around me and none had Tri-Flow. However, I did find this... Liquid Wrench's Dry Lubricant. And the can says "With Cerflon". Maybe the word teflon is copywrited or something??

    Anyway, is this basically the same thing?

    I still cant belive that All Pro is telling people this. Im thinking its why their Uni's are so noisy, and fail often. Good for repeat business........I guess......

    That should work. Everything I have found on that product sugests it does in fact have PTFE (Tefflon) in it. Regardless, its better than any oil based lube. :)
