Tire and suspension idea.

I am getting close to needing new tires for the truck. I think if I can hold of till spring time thats when Im gonna do my lift and tires.

I have had this idea for a few months now and just want to see what everybody thinks and maybe get some other ideas or see what negatives everyone can come up with. See if their is anything I have not thought of yet.

The lift would be the bilstein 5100's in front set at highest setting. Then the back would be just a 1.5 inch aal. Then for the tires I want to use the size 275-70-17 on my stock Sport rims. For that size of tire I know it is very rare. Only a few mfgs make that size.

The most offroading my truck sees is during hunting season driving the country roads rain, snow, or shine.

Will i have any rubbing issues anywhere? Will those tires work with that lift? Is it possible? Give me any of the negatives.

Any particular reason you have chosen the 275? The majority of people here go 255, 265, or 285 when they change out tires. There are far more tire options in the 265 and 285 range. I'm not saying it's a bad idea or that you shouldn't do it. It's your truck and you should do whatever you want, I'm just curious about the decision on 275's.

Also, if you max out the 5100's, it's a good idea to get new UCA's. It's not necessary, but it helps with getting a perfect alignment.

 

275 is the widest you can go using the stock sport wheels. 275 70 17s rule!

I like the look of a smaller lift with bigger tires. With a 2.5 inch lift that size fills the wheel well just right. Its a rare size I know. But its in between the 265 and 285. The other reason is because I like my stock rims, and if I was to go up to 285's I would have to do some major trimming. Im not sure I want to do that just yet. I will probably go up to 285's in the future but then also change out to aftermarket wheels. I will end up getting UCA's.

 

I saw a photo of a 2009 4runner with a small lift and 275's and it was bitchin!!!
