I had this problem when driving through arizona and the desert in SoCal. I just tightened it (in the middle where it adjusts) and the problem went away.

my bestop is adjusted to the tightest adjustment....the bar that holds the rear window above the tailgate just comes undone, i was doing 80 and the thing almost went flying off and i had someone behind me  probably the only time i ever got scared in my truck....luckily i had the common sense to stay cool and pull over

Ya, same problem with mine, but I had enough adjustment to fix it.

do you use the top or bottom notch in the bar to latch it to the other piece that it connects to?

bump. i'm confused on this part too. are you suppose to rotate the bar and slide it into the corner pieces? if so, i'm going to need to bend those too because it's a tight fit. i actually got it in there after a long time trying, but then it was almost impossible taking it out. I had to bang it out. there has to be better solution

I always hear that problem with bestop and soft top that's why I made my own. It's not done yet though, I still have to finish the side cover....:

Here you can kind of see where and how I'm trying to put in the rear piece. Rotated the bar inward and the crevice doesn't fit the tab

After going through some threads, I realized I had that piece on backward, so I flipped it and it's still not really lining up. Also rotating the bar inward so the crevice faces the tabs

For now I just have it unhooked and hanging, but I purposely flipped it the other way because if I don't rotate it and let it hang, the piece that touches my tailgate is the rubber seal, so I don't have to worry about scratches

The rubber should be on the top of the tail gate. It fits you just have to force it on. You want it to be tight.

Yea I understand that it should be tight, but I have jar it in there for it to even fit, and taking it out takes just as much effort. As much as I go in and out of the bed, I kinda wished the whole back window was on by zippers all the way around

Has anyone seen how easy this guys does it? LOL

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8YwYNU_rfVU

2:56 he takes it off. unzips then pulls out that piece

3:13 he puts it back together. puts on the tailgate piece, then zips up

That room he's in has got to have the temperature set high for the bestop canvas to cooperate that much lol

Gonna revive this thread a little...

I tried putting mine on today/tonight. I'm havin a heckuva time with the freakin tailgate bar. Is the Bulbseal supposed to go on like in the 2nd pic? I put mine on the other lip and then I could pick which slot the tailgate bracket hooked into...did I do it wrong? The tailgate bar and windows gave me a lot of trouble. Still don't have em on. It got dark on me so I left em off and I'll work with em when I have time this week.

Yea the correct way to put it on is in the second picture. You want to make it so that after you rotate it, and about to put it into the tabs, the bulb seal is at the bottom, hitting your tailgate.

I tried it that way an then thought surely that's not how it goes on. It made more sense to me the way I ended up doin it. I'll have to play with it again when I get a chance.

Ok so to revive this thread one more time.... I put my bar on the way picture 2 is, and thats definitely the way it goes.... my back window is nice and taught now, no longer floppy...and the rubber part does seal the tailgate from the elements now better too
