Rear Tire wear problem

I have an 06 Tacoma 4x4, with a 3" spacers in the front and 2" angled blocks in the back. I had all the work done this summer and also but on 285/70/17 on after market rims, I recently took the aftermarket rims off to put on my winter rims with 16" tires (tires are new) and noticed that about about 1/2" of the outer part of the tire had some excessive ware, and the center and inside of the tire where fine. I thought maybe it had to do with the tires or the fact the offset of my rim was different, and was going to deal with it in the spring. Now that my winters have been on about a week, im already starting to notice the same thing.

Any suggestions? My understanding is that there is not adjustment for camber or toe on the rear, and it is happing to both rear tires.

Sounds like your running low tire pressure in the rear.

 

no rotation tires are new, have only been on truck about 500kms, it is very slight, but can see it is starting.

 

Would this not show the same sort of ware on the inside of the tire as well? The only ware is on the outside 1/2" of the tire tread.

Maybe you need to take it in for a 4 wheel alignment, maybe the rear end is out.

 

Was this in an accident at one time ???

Had a 2wd with what you are indicating. had 3 alignments at different places.
got dropped in my lap.
did a alignment check
Thrust line was way off and rear toe was way out. Rear end got tweaked and was wearing the crap out of the tires. Had to replace the rear housing.
i would do as suggested and have a alignment checked and printed out.

Then we can see if the truck is square or not.
Have to start somewhere and this is the way to go first.

 

no accident that i know of, nothing on car fax, had truck a year and a bit, think i will make an appoinment for 4wheel allignment, didnt have any problem before i did lift...

Have them look real close at the thrust line then.

If this is the case you might have to double check the install of your lift.
I'll be real curious on what they find.
Something isn't adding up.

I would re-check your lift. Make sure both blocks are installed in the same direction (the angles are both facing the same way), the center pin on the spring is properly seated in the block and the block is properly seated on the spring perch. May have to loosen your u-bolts to make sure you haven't sheared a center pin on your springs, or a locating pin on your blocks.
