I had mine on my flip down visor, but it seems to weigh it down enough to get in my way.
i was thinking of velcroing it to the center console somewhere below the shifter (automatic) towards the storage bin thing. at some point I plan on getting a home link thing.

    thanks!

I tried putting it there too, but when I went to use it, I kept fumbling to get it out.

is it a horrible idea to velcro it in plain site like that?

I rarely put anything on/in my truck that does not serve some functional purpose. Do you have any idea what happens to a garage door opener hanging from a visor when you bomb through the whoops at 80 mph?

Let me paint a picture. You're hauling ass, eyes on the prize, intentionally trying to scare the shit out of your wife. In an instant, a garage door opener flings of the visor, beans you in the forehead just above your right eye, and then proceeds to fall on the floor board. One hand comes off the steering wheel to coax the developing knot while you squint with one eye. You try to play the cool card initially like it didn't hurt, but alas the angel on the right shoulder outweighs the devil on the left so you decide to apply the brakes and slow down. Unfortunately by some seemingly impossible feat, the fucking garage door opener is wedged vertically by the the floor mat in the exact precarious position that disallows the brake pedal to be fully depressed. In a panic you pump the brakes violently only to end up breaking your garage door opener.

Alright the above story was all bullshit, but at least that's how it potentially played out in my head. So yeah..all comfort. It's a luxury prerunner. :D

...velcro'd into the super-handy compartment in my overhead storage bin made for it.

I especially liked having to "tweak" the reach of the little lego-like parts that you get to reach the button precisely.

There is a place specifically for a garage door opener in the roof console just infront of the sunglasses holder in my 05. Toyota even supplies Velcro and pegs that are adjustable so you can hit the button without opening the compartment.

I have mine there, fits pretty good. Mine is a Genie. I did add a small piece of shelf liner to keep it from sliding around and it is pretty well out of site. I don't take it out, just reach and hit the button.
