Anyone into R/C?

Apparently my Slash came in today. I'll throw up pix when I get home. Probabbly won't be able to play with it until tomorrow since the battery/charger it came with takes 8hrs to charge . Lipo and charger are first on the to do list.

The last one has a Slash Velineon motor and esc, it's damn fun in the sand!

took them down from a shelf in the garage and dusted them off

i had Mike Modano sign the body back in 1995, i think

both are associated racing

 

HPI Racing is also coming out with a Short Course Buggy, *it might be 4wd and brushless*

 

I love Hpi, but they need to catch up to some of the other guys... I mean, they still haven't even come out with a 4wd Blitz yet, not even a brushless version... I'd drop my Slash in a heartbeat if they did.

Their E-Firestorm Flux on the other hand, is by far the best stadium truck EVER!

 

with this new vehicle coming out I wouldn't count out a 4wd SC truck coming out right behind it

 

is the brushless the latest elec engine?

aren't they expensive?

 

depends on the application how much they are.....

brushless surpass the power and performance of nitro these days

ive seen brushless heli motors run 300 or more!

 

You could get a decent brushless set up for that buggy for $200.

 

I think I have to unsubscribe to this thread...I don't want to have to spend another $600 on shit I don't really need.

That pan car brings back lots of memories! We had a huge group of guys running carpet oval back in the early 90's.

 

hopefully i am going to get one of the Axial Exo buggies (comes out early 2012), i have a few questions for whoever.....

who has the LiPo batteries?
brand?

do you feel safe using/charging/discharging them?
they have fire and explosion proof bag for charging !!!!!!!!??????!??!!?!?!

what kind of charger (brand)?

 

I had Lipo on my old rc. I bought mine from hobbyking.com and hobbypartz.com, super cheap from there. You could buy expensive name brand ones if you want, but it's been proven that the ones from hobbypartz and hobbyking work just as well.

As for chargers I had a cheap $30 hobbyking. Worked great for me. Again, you can buy expensive name brand, but the cheap stuff worked well for me. Here's the charger I had and im ordering again since i'm getting back into rc. http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewitem.asp?idproduct=5548

If you read up on rc forums, you find that lots of people use the stuff I listed.

Oh, and I had no problrm charging and discharging them. The bag thing is a bit overkill IMO, I never used one.
