You know how many UGA fans would be raising hell right? Remember when so many thought we deserved a shot in 07 w/o playing in the SECCG? And everyone said you didn't even win you're conference. This would really upset other conferences, fans too, and create a big stink about the BCS and needing a playoff. Therefore I don't see this happening. Although I do think they are the top 2 teams in the country.

 

Yeah, I agree with this 100%. Some way they will prevent two SEC schools in the NC game.
I also hear you on the 07' thing, how about Auburn in 04', hell they won the SECCG, after running the table.

 

I know it won't happen. I was just pointing out that it could very easily come down to them being 1-2 again. There's not enough money in a Bama/LSU NCG. There's no way they'd let it happen.

And I would love to see a rematch between LSU and Alabama for the National Championship, and Alabama lose AGAIN!!! BUT... that means Alabama would have to beat Auburn, so I can't wish for that WAR EAGLE!!

But what you fail to understand is, Arkansas was NOT in the SEC in 1980. They and South Carolina joined in 1992.

For those who didn't appreciate the game, that's what two top notch SEC defenses look like. Offense was nothing to brag about on either side, but damn with the exception of one horrible punt, my kickers were on fire!

Yes, I went to the game. It was loud, it was intense, and in the end it sucked.... but life goes on. I'm not sure where I fall on the "Saban should have been punting" debate. We likely would have put the ball in the end-zone on any of those punts, so we really only gave La State 10 or 15 extra yards, and they weren't moving the ball on us (for the most part) anyway. On the other hand, how many times are you going to let that kid go out there and fail?

To the auburn fans super happy to see us lose: I get it... but you all know what's coming Thanksgiving weekend, so I don't need to say anything more about it now.

My ticket was in the student section at the game. It was fun to be w/ all of that energy for a while, but then the asshat behind me actually barfed ON me, which is when it stopped being fun. F'king kids can't hold their shit these days.

Our defense is now ranked #1 in all four major statistical categories. Ask me how much better that makes me feel............

No therapy needed... But it took me a day to recover. I've learned not to post right after we lose and I've had a few, which was the situation Saturday night. I didn't get home until 2.

La State would obliterate Luck and Stanford. I would like to see that, though.

With a #3 ranking in the BCS, there aren't TOO many scenarios to map out. We need help, but OU can certainly beat Okie State, and I think Oregon has a shot against Stanford. I know we're ahead of the Cardinal, but if they win out and win the PAC12, I bet they jump us.

Not saying it's going to happen, or that it would be good for college football if it did, but as a bammer, I'm hoping for it anyway. Plus, I hate the BCS, and if a re-match of a SECC and a team that didn't even make it to the conference championship is what it takes to push for a playoff (or even just a +1 system), then so be it.

Haha very true! If they don't make it to the NC game, which I don't think they deserve to play for, I'm sure 5 years from now they will count it as another NC victory. What would that make it, 57 National Championships and counting....?

On a side note, could anybody else tell, besides me, that Verne Lundquist wanted so bad for Alabama to win? I sure as hell could. It's so obvious he has a hard on for Bama
