    awesome thread. sub'd.

has anyone ever used those little solar panel chargers you can use to recharge usb devices while outdoors? or even those other chargers that generate electricity with movement? i think those would be a good addition for small things like flashlights and whatnot.

off set rims and tires, everything else is original.
I have a reg cab so all I have is a little first aid kit in the glove, wool blanket behind the seat and that's it I think. Planning to add a lot more tho

Mountain House is pretty good. Insane shelf life when stored properly. Their #10 can will last for over 25 years when stored in cool, dry locations. The single serve packs can last over 10 years. Overall, I like the taste. Just make sure you have some seasonings with you as a few of their meals are a little bland.

My truck is packed with survival goodies, a bug-out bag and weapons. I wont even list all the stuff, because its too long. But I will say this, the day I bought my truck and the salesman (a friend of mine actually) showed me all the compartments behind and under the seats and in the bed, I was amazed. The 1st word that came to mind was "TACTICAL" I thought that all the cubbies and compartments were very "tactical", and the truck was immediately named "Tactical Tacoma". Hence, my screen name and license plate. Most people think the license plate and name is because I am a gun nut, but its more of a tribute to the characteristic of the truck.

yep, I've used one in the field before for my cell phone. It takes a lot longer than charging it while plugged into a wall outlet, but then again, it's free!!
They sell one at Walmart for a decent price.

I keep stuff in the truck, but not a lot. I'm set to bug-in, so I have enough to spend the 2 nights max I would need to get the 10 miles home from work if I had to hoof it: fire making supplies, multile flashlights, extra ammo for my Glock (which goes with me everywhere), rope, a bush knife (Cold Steel SRK), extra set of warm clothes (fleece pullover, jeans, old trainers) and an old German rucksack (waterproof with rubber bottom) to carry what I need.

No way I would bug out without the wife, so getting home and bugging in is the plan if at all possible.

That reminds me - I need to finally order those topo maps and add a tarp/wool blanket now that it's colder.

I saw them at another store, for a good price too. I figured it would be easier to use something like that than have to use fuel to power up a converter or use the cigarette lighter outlet to charge something.

scored some minor stuff today for cheap at a surplus store, 2 weapon cleaning kits, 2 canteens, a camel back bladder for my BOB, 2 mess kits, and an E tool with a sheath, the reason for 2 of everything is because my g/f wants to build her own BOB now (makes me happy)

I carry a fix Strider and a Strider folding knife, 7 AR mags, 7 Glock 19 mags, 4 Glock 18 mags, MRE's, water, shotgun ammo, 7 1911 mags. I have a keltec sub 2000 folded under the back driver side seat, and I keep an AR and or a shotgun behind the rear seats. I have a CC license so I almost always have my 19 or 1911 on me. I know I'm leaving stuff out but thats all I can think of right now.

Do I think we will have the living dead trying to eat me? No. Do I think I will have a person or group of people trying to take what I have worked for? Yes. I prepare for the "zombies" that will try and take my food, water, gas, and other stuff I have saved up and worked for. Prepare for the worse and hope for the best...

If you can survived zombie apocalypse you can survive anything! :infantry::quickdraw::fenforcer::laser:

Make sure you have a way to carry extra gas if you're serious about an expedition/overland rig, otherwise infinity's gonna be about 300 miles. Something I need to do for sure.
