Spidertrax on Highway?

I have searched the millions of Spidertrax threads, and haven't seen a definant answer. All of you spidertrax owners, after having them for a long time how safe are they on the highway, and or normal road use in general? Are there any horror stories that they shouldn't be used for looks since I drive my truck on the highway? I just installed them and want to make sure driving my family in the truck will be ok

 

I have them on my truck, I commute almost 100 miles each way, while I have only driven about 1,000 miles on them I have had no issues. My truck is currently in the shop so I won't be putting any miles on them soon.

From what I have read you should be fine as long as you check they are secure every few thousand miles, I plan on changing my oil and rotating my tires every 5,000 miles, will check the spacers then.

Like anything else there are going to be issues, from what I have heard the issues are few and far between compared to the success stories.

 

I have had mine on for over 2 years, about 50,000 miles and no complaints here. I have gone offroading with them and most of those miles are highway. Not one problem here. Make sure you install them correctly and you should be golden.

 

That's great to hear. Exactly what I was wondering, Do you check yours often? If so have you notice them loosen up at all? Thanks for the repsonses

Yup, the Spidertrax come with loctite.

I had Spidertrax for a while on my Tacoma and they didn't give me any issues. Just make sure they are properly torqued and you use some Loctite.

 

I didn't know mine came with it, bought some to use on the install, got them, opened the box and there was some in there.

 

I've had Spidertrax spacers on for almost all the miles I've put on my truck. No problems what so ever. Put Loctite on them of course when I installed them, let them "break in" and re-checked the torque all of which were fine and every once in a while I check them, but they are always tight.

All in all, they are a fantastic quality product.

 

I used the loctite that came with them and check them every one in awhile. Have not noticed anything. I will be going over the truck again in the next month or so when i am home and will report back then, but other than that they have been fine. I would say if you are worried about them check them every oil change and make sure they are tight and torqued properly as well as your wheels being torqued properly to the studs. Don't want to have a shop rotate your tires and just crank down on them with an impact gun.

 

I've had my spider trax for about 120,000 mi.....came off of my 05 and put on my 11 with about 60% highway miles without any problems

 

Had mine for a year and a half. No issues here.

 

I've had mine on for 2 years and make frequent drives from Dallas to Houston and back (about 250 miles each way) about every 2 weeks for work. No problems at all. Only problem I've run into is that NO NONE will work on my tires/wheels for liability reasons. The only place that will even rotate many balance why wheels is 4wheel parts, who I am not a fan of.

 

used wheel spacers onroad and offroad for years, no problems. blue permatex ftw.

 

The way I see it is, since they were designed for offroad use, they can surely hold up to street use.

 

the spidertrax mount to the stock study and have studs already in them for your wheel to mount on

 

goodyear tire is where i got my tires from and they rotate balance and everything without a question

 

where the holes are is where it goes on the stock studs and then your wheel goes on the studs shown. Very simple install.

 

i have had mine for a few months and have had no problems. it is a very simple install, much cheaper than buying aftermarket wheels, and like everyone said just use the loctite that is included with the spacers and you will be golden
