This morning when I was heading to work, I got in my pickup and it barely turned over and started. It honked four quick time at me and the interior lights (gauges clock shifter ect..) where flashing for about 5-10 seconds.

When I got to work I went in and punched in, went back down, and it is still doing it. It was an even weaker crank this time and now I'm afraid it might not start again.

Anyone ever experienced such a thing? I figured I'd throw it out there before I called the garage.

Sounds like the battery is dead.

No CEL or Battery light? How long was the drive to work?

Last Friday I was out and my truck sat for about 3 hours after a 1/2 hour drive. I went to start it and got the long crank like you describe, but no flashing lights or honking.

It has not done it again since. Truck is an '11 with 4800 miles on it.

yeah sometimes the long crank just happens and doesn't come up again for a while.

I feel like this is different becuase it is screwing with my alarm and interior lights

Welp, it started up and I made it back home for my lunch break. It is parked outside on idle trying to regain a charge.

It drove home fine, aside from the dash and interior lights really dim and kinda fading...
