I want to lift my new tacoma. Its so low to the ground and I like to 4wd.

Any suggestions? Where would be a good place in Denver to do the work?

Once you go through that, give a bit more info on what you intend to do with the truck and your budget for a lift.

Also, ride height relative to the ground does not affect the Tacoma's ability to engage 4wd. Just sayin...

 

How high is it to the ground. Whenever I go over something it gets hit.

 

I was just being a smartass and saying lift does not affect 4wd. I get that you meant you like to off road, bad joke I guess...

How much higher off the ground do you want to be, any plans to armor up and again, what are your plans for the truck?

 

Maybe 3" would work. I just like to go 4 wheeling. Suspension lift first maybe armour later.

The reason I ask is depending on how much armor you add, it could dictate what suspension you put on. If you plan on buying an ARB steel front bumper and a winch, you'll need a pretty beefy front suspension to support it. If you are just taking underbelly skid plates, then you don't need as much support.

Check out Toytec Lifts, Downsouth Motorsports and Wheelers Off Road, they all have a good selection and are vendors on this site. Check out the Old Man Emu lift, it's a good all around lift and relatively inexpensive. If you want to go higher end, then you can take a look at Fox, King and Icon and see how their prices sit with you. Check out their websites and then post back with more specific info so people can help you pick out a good lift that suits your needs and budget.

 

the best place in Denver to purchase the lift is toytec they are at 104th and Irma. great products and descent prices, you get a discount if you tell them our a tw member, and with them being local you don't need to pay for shipping. if you are just looking for a small lift i would call some friends over and do it yourself, shops charge a lot and it is very easy to do. i did mine in about 4 hours including new upper control arms. check out for a 3" lift that doesn't cost too much i have been very happy with the toytec ultimate lift that i put on mine. its 3" and rides better than stock.
