How does ur cv's and other driveline components like 36in swampers? Lot of stress ?

 

Thanks, here is a new trail we did today.

Slaughterhouse canyon to Quigley canyon its less than 10 minutes from the house and about 2-3 hours to do the loop. A lot of creek crossings then some off camber climbs it was a lot of fun.

Damn, I live in the wrong part of the country...

 

The CV's seem to be holding up, currently running a set of Cardan(sp?) CV's they are cheap 70.00$ a CV cheap so if they break it's not a big deal but a good test. I have my Toyota CV's as well just need to reboot one of them. So far everything else U-joints/drivelines etc. seem to be holding up just fine with some light wheeling. I have not had the truck in the bigger rocks yet so that will be a good test for the drive train when I do.

getting much snow up there these days? i've seen a couple storms coming from the NW passing over your state but never really hear about big snowfalls coming from there

Thanks, one thing I did not put in there is I took the CV bands/clamps closest to diff stretched the boots and replaced them with hose clamps.

Thanks, On the rims I think they will be sticking with the truck but I do have plans to send them to OMF and have them cut into beadlocks at some point.

I have not done a whole lot to the FJ40 lately other than drive it. There is a build thread for it on RST as well but it has alot of the same pics and info.

I bent an axle shaft and need to fix that. Then I'll get back to you. If we could even figure a way to get those down here.
