My folks and I were talking about my past business ventures manufacturing motorcycle parts over dinner tonight. What we talked about got me thinking about getting back into that sort of thing.

I can't invest a whole lot of time so any sort of manual labor-intensive parts like suspension bits and high load bearing components are out of the question.

I am however willing to look into the development of simple billet aluminum parts. Preferably one-piece parts with nothing additional other than mounting/adjusting hardware. The material will more than likely be 6061-T6, 100% American made.

So if there's anything you guys would like to see machined from billet Aluminum for your trucks, let me know. I would like to keep it limited to 2nd gens as that is what I have access to for R&D. Also, no mini-truck parts like billet volume control knobs and window cranks please.

doesn't your school have a machine shop? You could whip one out in a few hours on the lathe.

I bet you could make some money if you made a short shift kit.

There are already a number of different ones out there. I have the TRD quickshifter. URD seems to have a quality alternative as well.

There is no way that I will be able to price an American made kit to be competitive with URD's. Not unless I invest a fat chunk of change upfront to manufacture in large quantities.

Thats why it needs an aluminum shift knob, HEATSINK!!!

As for machining, How about a transmission block off plate for auto's to prevent accidentally shifting into 4th. I have an eraser I shaped to fit in there, but would love something more permanent and better looking.

Ew...and you're from NorCal? yeck... at least you have a 6-spd 4x4. Ok you can add me on fb.

What's wrong with going into 4th in the auto's? I've got a 6-spd so I'm not aware of any need for this.
