I was just as shocked as you are. I asked him why he replaced his tires with the original ones. He looks at me and says, these are the original ones.

I'm at 30k, they are bald. For the life of these tires, they squeaked around the most minor of turns.

62 K on mine boyz with about 5k or more left to go but I just put on M/S 2's on. All you need to do is inflate to about 35-38 pounds and rotate em' and they will last.

For the most part, tire life is a compromise between super traction and wear. When one goes up, often but not always, the other goes down.

Them thar Dunlops can wear well if you sacrifice a bit of traction. I can understand that many don't like the concept but that is the way it is played with stock tires like the Dunlops.

I've been told the M/S2's will last a long time without the traction sacrifice but at $1058 plus tax, that is the price you have to pay for both.

Now there is 35 pounds of nitrogen in the new skins so we will see how things go.

I had 70k on the dunlops when i replaced them. They still had tread left. I have no doubt i could have gotten 80k out of them if i wanted to make them slick.

It isn't how much life you can get out of the Dunlop tires. It is a question of do you want to risk your life or family while driving on them. The Dunlop Gran Trek tires are unsafe at any speed, suitable only for planting petunias in the front yard.

Have a yard sale, pimp your dog out at a truck stop, work a second job at McDonalds, do whatever it takes to get real tires on your truck, FAST.

Here's my 09 DC taco last year on the stock wheels. After we got done shoveling, I took the wife out to get some hot chocolate and drive like drunken teenager in a stolen car. I probably pulled 15 people out of snowbanks that day.

The Dunlops are pretty terribly average. I've been on better and worse. But if you got stuck in 2" of snow...

Well, the music aint in the piano, man.

I've got about 12000 km (7500 miles) on the stock tires. Front ones are half worn out. I took it in for alignment at 8000 km because the outside of the fronts was wearing quickly. They did a wheel alignment and since then the inside of the fronts has worn off to match the outside.
    The rear tires are mint.
I hope they get the alignment issue resolved because I'm going to put some decent tires on this thing in the next few weeks before the snow starts flying around here.

Well figure this one out. '09 Taco had new AT20s dated 2011 on each corner of the truck when purchased with less than 30k miles.

The AT20 on the spare rim is worn down to the bars and predates the truck's birthday like you'd expect.

    This means:
-Someone wore out a dunlop set to less than legal status in about 27000 miles.
-One of those tires wound up on the spare, and the original spare is MIA.

I'm probably gonna kick myself for saying this but they can't be worse than the Dunlop SP31s that were on my Honda. Down to the wear bars at 23k on a car with a 2460# curb weight and absolute junk in the winter.
